Toprol XL

Hello All,

First time posting a message. I have a question about Toprol XL. I have been on Toprol XL 25 MG for about 6 months now for high blood pressure. I had great success for quite some time lowering my blood pressure into the healthy range. Yesterday I went for a routine follow up appointment and my blood pressure was raised to 159/80. I wrote it off as a little whitecoat hypertension. But when I got home and took my bp, it was still in the 150's. One thing to note, about once every 1 1/2 weeks - 2 weeks, I forget to take my dose. Could this have to do with it? Are there cases where the dose needs to be increased? I can't imagine the drug losing its effectiveness on me.

Hi hon, this is the second letter I've written to you. I don't have high blood pressure myself, but my best friend does. He chose to ignore it and now he is 31 years old and taking serious medication and trying to reverse the clock. I can't remember what the names of his new medications are, but I do know that he was very resistant to therapy. And yes it is a big deal when you don't take your meds every day. That sort of therapy depends on you taking your prescribed medicine every day at the prescribed time
