Default Taper Lexapro after a month, w/Zoloft???

I have been taking Lexapro for a month and want to stop and I can't afford it. How long should my taper be? Or should I just stop within a couple of days. I only have 2-5-mg pills right now. I started with 10 mgs and been taking 5 mgs for the last three days. Everybody i read about has taper plans but most of them I read about have been on it for significant amount of time. Also, I have Zoloft from before, a litttle less than a months worth, 100 mg/pill. Can I use this to help me stop/taper? Thank You!!!

    HI,

I am tapering down my lexapro and starting zoloft at the same time. I would use the rest of what you have in the lexapro--cut in half and take every other day.

I don't see why you couldn't use the zoloft to help; it's basically what I'm doing but I plan to stay on the zoloft because I need it. My hope is the zoloft will prevent the lexparo withdrawal symptoms.

    Good luck.

I have not taken it in four days(since Wed- 5mg) and I have two 5 mg pills left. I only took the Zoloft once(on Wed too). I am wondering if I should just stop and just wait to see if I start to have symptoms or take the two pills I have left like every other day or third day.

    Hey Bambino,

How did you make out? What did you decide to do?

I haven't been on line in a week or so and I was just wondering. I am finally off lexapro completely and taking 50 mg of zoloft each day.

    Hope all is well.

I am fine. Its been over two weeks and I feel no withdraw at all. I am on 4mg of Subutex but nothing else and actually started to taper off that in the last month so I thought there would be added discomfort. I am actually a little upset with this site and people taliking about all these negative effects. I am sure there are for long term users that do not taper. You always have to watch getting caught up believing every thing you read on the Internet. I know I have gotton caught up!!! Also, my ex-girlfriend took it for a couple of years and tapered and had no problems at all. You can private message me @ theBambino1004@yahoo.com if you ever want to talk. I do not expect to be on here that much. Be safe!!!
