Im pretty sure its a sympton of w/d. But im on narcotic pain meds for my back. I havnt been on them that long but ive been on narcotics alot in my life for med probs. But I havnt had them for 2 days and I have somewhat diarhea. I took immodium but nothing worked. im suppose to get a refill today but what can I do in the mean time. Why does this happen?

Sounds like withdrawal, to me. There's not much you can do except drink enough water, eat lightly and (I assume you're not addicted but only physically tolerant) get back on the medicine. If you want to avoid w/d issues, don't suddenly stop your pain medicine.

I hope your back pain gets better. Is it disc/compressed nerve pain or muscular pain?

Why does it happen? The brain gets used to having the medicine in it, makes some biochemical accommodations and when the drug is removed suddenly, the brain and the body malfunction. That's an overly terse description, however.

thanks yes I have moderate scoliosis, moderate bone degeneration and compressed discs
