Default Someone please help or give advice on AFRIN

I am a mother of 3 children and never have done drugs at all! Make a long story short my neighbor got mad at me and called C.P.S and said I was a drug user I laughed and when cps came out I said sure I will take a test. It came back positive for Meth. I have never done meth but I have had a condition with nose bleeds very bad nose bleeds and 3 different hospitals gave me afrin. to make another story short. because of that positive test they took my children and I have been fighting in court for over 3 months. I In March have to go back to court the 3 letters from the doctors was not good enough and so my lawyer is trying to subphoena all 3 lawyers for my court case on March 17th 2008. The question is does anyone on here or a doctor know of anything else online or in the real world, a book or a website or anything else that will help me print out or articles or what ever to use also for my defense. Again we alreayd established that is what made it show positive. Now I have 3 doctors being supphoena but anything else is great too My email address is h_m_p_s@yahoo.com Thank you

Stepha,

There are several things you can do. First, it is a fact that inhalants, such as vicks vapor rub can produce a positive result for meth-amphetamine. Many inhalant decongestants can produce the same result. What should of been done was send the urine or blood to identify the specific metabolite that caused a positive result. Metabolites are factors that are produced by specific agents. That being the case it could have been traced back to the inhalants (afrin) you used for your nose bleeds. Second, you can check to see if the lab c.p.s used kept a sample. A spectroanalysis can be done on the sample. It will identify the specific chemicals in that sample. Remember, you are innocent till proven guilty. You should of never volunteered to give a sample. They should of had a warrant, which would of been next to impossible to obtain since they had no legal basis, except for the word of a neighbor. As you found out the hard way being innocent is not always enough in this country, especially when your dealing with Child Protective Services. Unfortunately, now it is guilty till proven innocent. What a farce. Tell me what the ingredients are in afrin and I might be able to help you identify the agent that gave a false positive. Hope springs eternal. God Bless.
