Bobby - you're right, you did misunderstand. It is a state thing, but some companies are willing to try to interpret the laws, and others just want to avoid it altogether. If you see a company with a long list of states they won't ship only certain medications but will others, chances are they don't want to be hassled or take the risk.
I have a hard time believing they disregard the law and send the soma anyway regardless of state laws so I think you mightve misunderstood. No offense but the way you explained things in your email was very confusing,THATS what I was saying I mightve misunderstood about AND I checked into it and its NOT against the law in my state to recieve soma, its basically up to the site itself for whatever reason they do have the right and reason to choose what states to send it to that are legal.I know from experience one reason alot of doctors wont prescribe it,and the websites do use doctors to write the scripts, are that they believe soma to be toxic.I did alot of research on it,as I do any meds before I take them, and its only toxic in massive doses in pregnant lab rats.Since Im not pregnant or a lab rat and dont intend on taking massive doses no problem.....lol.Where do you get all your information on the state laws of the meds certain sites will send or not send?No offense, just wondering.

That didnt tell me anything I didnt already know, and as I said my state is not one of those listed that has classified soma as a type IV controlled substance.I dont have a problem with them keeping an eye on people abusing soma,I just dont want them going overboard like they have with oxycontin.Im originally from Ohio and they went overboard there,in a way I cant blame them, thanks to the junkies breaking into pharmacies where Im from and stealing oxycontin the pharmacies wouldnt carry it,the only bad thing is people like me who have severe back pain and problems who have run the gammet on trying everything to relieve the pain and it not work oxycontin is THE only viable option if I want to function and have any type of life. There is always someone out there thats going to abuse meds and ruin it for people like me that have to have it to just survive, trust me the pain I go thru and my limited physical capabilties is not living, its just surviving.

hey all was just wondering if anyone was familiar with soma(carasopradol). what are the long term side effects, and the like. i have taken flexeral for my back, but soma really works for me. it not only dulls the pain, but puts me in a realaxed state. i really dislike
opiates so i am kinda thinking that this it the best solution. thanks.
I ended up abusing soma like candy about 10 years years ago....I would take 10 at a time...this went on for around around a year and when my doctor finally removed his head from his a** and cut me off I had a Grand Mal seizure....it works great but if your prone to taking more than prescibed...stay away. Goog luck with everything

I agree with JL - If you are prone to abuse then Soma is not for you. However, if you aren't it is a good medication (at least it has been for me) for back issues.

Since i had an accident two years ago which has left me in screaming chronic pain, I can only say they have tried everything.
On soma, I fell asleep in the middle of dinner just as I was putting a forkful of food in my mouth,(In a restaurant in London)which embarrassed myself and the guests. I returned home and told the the doctor, DON'T ever give me that again!I found skelaxin was more my type of muscle relaxer (800 mg)I don't like being knocked out.

I don't know anything about this soma but it sounds good...how does it relate to zanaflex? I have been on zanaflex for over a yr. and it is losing its effectiveness...I am going to ask my doctor to change me to something else...is soma a lot stronger than zanaflex? Thanks

Personally I find Soma to be the best for my back. But everything works different for everyone.

i want to correct my last post, it read the following which makes no sense (mix up of brand names):
"the only problem i am having is finding WATSON brand delivered here in Holland for a decent price. I can get WALLACE- no problem for about 0.50 cents a piece from India, but WATSON - no.
I do not like WATSON as well.
Can someone help? "
what i meant o say was:
"the only problem i am having is finding WATSON brand delivered here in Holland for a decent price. I can get WALLACE- no problem for about 0.50 cents a piece from India, but WATSON - no.
I do not like WALLACE as well.

But, I was told that Wallace were the first makers of 'soma'name brand. is this true?
Also, the ons with the V on the bottom , the guy wrote about earlier on in this topic, I like as well.
I was thinking of trying Flexeral
(not sure how to spell that) or 'Skelaxel'. I hard that 'Flexeral' was stronget than Soma, but the person whom told me this was not able to take it cuz it afected her ears in some way.
has anyone tried flexeral? how is it compares to Soma? or 'skelaxel'?

Maybe Bobbyslady has something to say on this matter?

thanks everyone.

ps- still looking for a pharmacy where they will ship WATSON brand for a reasonable price.

I thank you for the latest input about soma. I too also find that different batches produce different effects. It is a light/ moisture sensitive drug. Maybe that has something do do with it.[^]

Flexaril and Skelaxin did not work for me but it depends on how bad your pain is and what kind really. They never did anything for me and I know soma is much stronger than either of those two.Everytime I wind up with a new doctor, due to being military, they always try to take me off soma and put me on one of the other two listed above and I tell them dont bother because they dont help and I wont take anything that doesnt. Why bother?!Again tho,it depends on the person, your tolerance to medications, and your pain level and type. You might try it and it work great for you but being someone that has been on serious meds for a long period of time it just doesnt cut it for me.Im on 40mg oxycontin 3 times a day and 4 soma's a day, which I usually have to take more because Ive become ammuned to them and my tolerance of them have gone up but they still help better than anything else Ive tried and theyve tried me on everything from flexaril to demerol pills.Good luck to you and hope your having a pain free day!

I fell from a tree three years ago, got a bad slip disc, 3 surgery and have been on soma since then. 1 years ago, I decided to buy from overseas pharmacy genericsmed.com to save some cost. It is the lowest that I ever find at 0.31 . Let me know if you can find any cheaper one.

This is my first post on your forum. I didn't realize Soma was that effective for back pain. I am a 60 year old female....good health except for hypothyroid (Hashimoto Disease). Only take synthroid for that.

I have scoliosis and bulging disc and sometimes painful sciatica. I have been taking Lortabs (10mg/650 Tylenol) for over two years. I take 1 to 2 every day and it keeps my back pain dulled. Two years ago my doc gave me Skelexin, which gave me a terrible headache everytime. So it sits in my medicine cabinet unused. Then he gave me Soma. I tried it a couple of times, but only by itself and all it did was put me to sleep. So it sits in my med cabinet. Then he put me on Robaxin. I tried it a few times, make me feel very loose and gave me a headache the next morning.

Since hearing about Soma from some of you, I think I will start taking it around 9 pm at night and see if I can get to sleep with it and nothing else. If I don't get to sleep, then I guess I could add 1/2 Lortab with it. It would love to be able to only take one Lortab a day. then I wouldn't feel like such a druggie.

If the Soma works now, my doc will give me prescriptions, because he is always asking me to try any of the muscle relaxers he prescribed.

He also started prescribing Klonopin 1/2 tab of .25 twice a day for nerves. It works ok, but makes me sleepy. I only take it at night to sleep, if I need it. I will not take it with the Soma.

Any ideas or concerns, please give me your feedback.

Deerfly

My doc gave me Soma a few months ago to try for a pinched nerve in my neck and chronic tennis elbow. I didn't feel like it did much for me, just made me sleepy, but lately I've been having trouble falling asleep which is so unlike me. I also take 2 Lortab 10/625's a day, too. Maybe the Soma's would help more during the day and help me fall asleep at night? What do you all think?[|)]

I have found that Lortab is notorious for keeping you awake at night if you take it within a few hours before bedtime. I use it for migraines and anytime I take it before bedtime I am away for hours....very frustrating!!!

However, I have found that if it isn't a really bad migraine, I can take Ultram (well the generic tramadol) before bedtime and it doesn't have any effect on being able to sleep.

BTW - if you take the Soma closer to bedtime you definately will be able to sleep and it should avoid the sleepyness during the day.

Just found this site and thought I would put in my two cents worth. I've had back and neck problems for years, probably from working as a mechanic all my life. After 13 years with a stiff neck and more muscle relaxers than I care to think of, I finally found relief with Chiopractic adjustments. The problem is that it is not permanant and I have to go every two to three weeks. At times his office is closed (holidays, weekends, etc.) and the pain hits. My physician prescribed Vicodin 7.5 and it helps but makes it impossible to sleep for the next 8 to 9 hours. He then prescribed Soma to help me sleep. I still can't fall asleep (even when I take two) but it does help me relax and rest. Unfortunately I can feel the effects the next day until early afternoon. I'm not as alert as normal and can't seem to focus. Sleep finally comes later in the afternoon when the effects of both drugs wear off.

I have been on Soma for 2 years, 700mg/day, with no side effects or other issues. I got off them about 6 months ago for 2 months without any issue and have recently gone back after another procedure to try and control my pain.

Default soma

I have been using soma now for about 3 yrs. I take one each night with my lorazepam for restless leg syndrome. I have been use to taking it with the lorazepam for sleep and have found no need to up my dose, or take more than i need. I do have to say it works very well to get to sleep. Maybe i am one of the few that do not seem to need to abuse it which i find very hard to believe as i get addicted to things so easily. Thank god i never had any side effects from it. My doctor is not to keen on prescribing them to me because he took over prescribing it when i came back home from living in ohio and the other doctor there origionally ordered it for me. I say it works alot better than flexeril ever did for me. It is a very relaxing drug and if i ran out for a few days it does not bother me. I just take the lorazepam by itself till i get the prescription filled. I do not want to get rid of the drug as it does help me sleep each night and not wake halfway through the night with restless leg syndrome. I am so scared to have that problem again that i experienced for years without knowing what it was. I also have taken it when i had perc's or vicodins or methadone.

Recently CA started to allow Soma to be shipped into the state - we can hope for those who need it that other states will follow.

You'll notice that other medications like Tramadol can be shipped to many other states.

I have a question about soma use. I am prescribed this drug for daily use and sometimes I will call my refill in several days before I am eligible through my insurance. When the pharmacy runs it through then insurance they see I am not eligible for refills until this certain date. I tell them I will pay cash for the drug and they tell me no. I live in California and where I get my soma it is just a few dollars more than my copay so this is why I offer to pay cash and to save me another trip to the pharmacy. Now is there a certain database they lookup to verify the last time i got a refill? It seems that soma has to be written on the security pad that DR's write other controlled substances on. If i had a new RX for this drug would I be able to take to a new Pharmacy and never tell them about my insurance and just pay cash to prevent them from refusing me my rx until a certain date. I do have to add that sometimes I do use more than prescribed due to only getting 2 a day for pain. Not enough for me as I need 2 every time i dose.

On another note I went to see a neurologist as referred by my primary DR and he stated with my symptoms and my MRI surgery is needed to repair 1 of my 2 herniated disks in my lumbar. He wont prescribe me any Pain meds for my pain due to not having the surgery yet. My primary dr only gives me 2 norcos a day which is what i use per dose. Needless to say i am out in 10 days without any way to get more for the rest of the month. How can i find a compassionate DR that would treat me for my pain until i can get my surgery in late February. Would A pain management clinic work? Should I get a referral to one?

A little history I injured my back in late 2003 and had treatment without surgery. I ended up having 2 slipped disk in L4 - 5 and L5 _ S1 with 8 and 7 millimeter protrusions and spinal stenosis. I did Physical therapy for a year along with only darvocets and soma's for pain. I did get better but never 100%. I re injured myself last October 2006 and got an updated MRI which showed a 1 millimeter recovery to the 7 millimeter dist to 6 MM. My primary decided to try Physical therapy again and give me tramadol for pain. The Physical therapy did good but I always manage to re injure myself as this is where i stand now. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Using a US source when you come home probably won't do you much good, as you can only order a max of 90. You can order as many as you'd like with GoodHealth and XL.[/QUOTE]
I havent been on in awhile but just popped in and read some of the posts.Im really impressed with the XLpharmacy,I just checked them out and they are GREAT on prices, delivery time, quantity.I havent placed an order from there yet but you can bet my next order will be from them! Thanks alot for the info because it seems like a wonderful site, the best Ive seen yet. I havent found anywhere else you can get 300 at a time.Again,THANK YOU!

Online pharmacies that are legit require current prescriptions, info on you and the dr, everything that Walgreens or any other pharmacy requires. If you send a scam online pharmacy your money and they don't send your meds you have no recourse. I would get a prescription and purchase meds in a safe and legal manner. God bless.

21. I have used soma for almost a year for some muscle spasms due to a car accident I got in to. I had tried almost everything to relieve the pain but soma was my drug. Never abused it, though. My question is I feel that I gained weight because of soma. Does it really slow down your metabolism? Any info? Thanks.
