singulair - experience with it?

I just left my general doc office for breathing issues and he prescribed me Singulair 10mg. Advair hasnt been effective anymore (500/50 for one week) and he opted to try this one out. He also referred me to see a pulmonologist. Any feedback would be great. I'm a 32-year old dude...thanks.
