Default is ritalin the right med?

anyone else taking ritalin? ive been taking the ritalin ir for a few weeks now, for add and depression. i take 10mg in the morning, and 10 mg in the afternoon.it worked good for awile, but now when i take it, about an hour later, i feel wirerd, and nervous, almost frenzic! if i wait too long to take it, i start feeling very tirerd. is this how your supposed to feel on it?. i was on adderall xr before this one, and i stopped taking it because i felt too sedated. like a zombie, and had trouble sleeping at night.so can anyone tell me, how do you know if an adhd med is the right one, are you supposed to feel like a nervous wreck, or like a zombie? theres got to be something in the middle?

zombification isn't good, neither is being "wired". Maybe just reduce your dosage with the ritalin and see how that works?

I have adhd severly and have taken ritilan. I dont like taking it all the time but when i need to concintrate ie. work or school I find it really helps me. My son is also on it and I feel like yes it works but they should look into something else because he is not eating and is losing weight he is 14 and prob 70lbs, he looks sick cause he is too thin. He lives with his dad and when I say stuff he just says things are fine.
As for if it is right for you or not well I have felt "high" on it at times and that I didnt like. I stoped taking it when that happend. I was also on 40 mg . maybe I need to be back on it as I have been having probs again mabye that is what I am missing.

I would say If you dont like the feeling then maybe you should tell your dr and see if there is something else you can take.

Ritalin can really crack you out. As in, nervous, tweaked, jaw-clenching, and other stuff. Try skipping a dose or taking 5mg instead of 10. Or even 2 1/2 mg. It is really hard stuff actually, I can't believe they give it to kids.
I'm just a dude so don't take what I say as anything more than what I have seen and heard and..stuff.
