So I was prescribed
adderall a few weeks ago and took it once. BAD NEWS. My doctor gave me
ritalin instead which I took yesterday for the first time. Felt not to bad until the evening when I started to cry totally unprovoked, almost called an ex, ect. Also everything I eat (which is basically nothing) goes through me in about 15 minutes. I'm not normally prone to depression and today after taking it about an hour ago I do feel unusually apathetic (slightly). I know that depression normally gets worst if untreated ect, so obviously if I can't get out of bed I will stop it immediately but my question is do these symptoms go away? Has anyone had any symptoms (particualrily mood related) worsen? I've searched the net and there is a wealth of information about side affects but nothing about whether or not they are permanent. It should be noted that I do get anxiety that can range from 2 week bouts (where I can function but feel horrible, can't eat ect.) to acute panic attack which
Ativan helps. This is not constant though, most of the time I am anxiety free. I also have insomia which is more chronic (since I was 12 years old). I know that these are the two conditions that you should be extra cautious when taking ritalin being they are both central nervous system issues and so I'm wondering if there is anyone else in my shoes. For the record I only am taking one dose of ritalin in the morning and it didn't seem to affect my falling asleep last night (yay!). I do feel slightly more nervous today but its fairly mild.
I would be grateful to anyone who could share their experience. Thanks!
