Default Risperdal and muscle spasms

Hi folks,i took risperdal for like 5 months on a 1mg/day dose for my bi-polar condition and now have muscle spasms (muscle jerks) all over my body especially in my right arm.
I stopped taking the risperdal 3 days ago but still have the muscle jerks.
Will these muscle spasms go away,i thought my condition is called tardive myoclonus,i did a little research.
I hope someone could answer this.

regards freazy

You should notify your psychiatrist about this side effect as well as the fact that you have stopped your medication cold turkey. If it is a Tardive symptom, they can be irreversable and it can be dangerous to come off some medications cold turkey. Your doctor can diagnose your symptoms and instruct you about safe discontinuation of the medication and see about the possibility of taking something else.
