Default oxycontin

Can anyone tell me how much methadone it would take for someone who was on 4 80mg oxycontin a day?

4 oxys 80mg = 320mg
30mg oxy = 20mg methadone
the math would make 213mg methadone an equianalgesic dose. it is a different ballgame for methadone treatment for withdrawal/detox

My dosage converter says that 360mgs of oxycontin=54mg of methadone.I wouldn't suggest taking 54mgs all at once as it takes methadone about 5 days to reach it's maximum blood serum level.A doctor will know how you should do this.....Dave

Default methadone

Hello,
Take it from me that conversion chart you have is way off. 325mgs of methadone would keep you incompactied all day. I have never ever heard of such a dose of methadone. I used to go to a methadone clinic and my frield was on 225mgs and slept the whole way home. Not to mention once he got home he slept all day and all night. I would suggest dosing down as much as you can. You can probably dose down to at least 200 mgs without feeling any discomfort. You will have to dose down quite a dit more to switch to Suboxone. I made the switch and at one point I was on 185 mgs of methadone for about 2 years. The last year I dosed all the way down to 20 mgs of methadone and switched to Suboxone. Easily the best move I have EVER made in my life. You need to get rid of those liquid handcuffs (methadone) Suboxone is the answer. Good Luck. If you need any more info of this my email is snoclaf94@msn.com. Thanks. Kevin.

Your reading the post wrong. It's 320mgs of oxycodone not methadone.I was actively abusing for 23 years and when I started methadone it took 400mgs a day for me to stablize.Everyone is different and the longer you've been abusing and also what you've been abusing effects your dose.My tolerance is very high.I stayed at 400mgs for 3 years or so and last year I came down 20mgs a month until I hit 300mgs.That's were I am today.I have never nodded from methadone.I am very active and on the go all day long. The clinics fail to educate their patients and far to often they end up laying around all day sedated and watching Jerry Springer. All this does is give methadone a bad name plus people tend to gain to much weight when they are sitting around all day doing nothing but eating sweets. It's imperative that patients on methadone be as active as possible.I have helped many people who were overweight and sedated because their clinic didn't tell them that by getting up and moving their methadone will work with them and not against. This is a big problem with the methadone clinics and up here in Canada we haven't got buprenorphene available so way to many people are on methadone that should never have been on it.Oh well, I could go on and on but that would bore everyone...Have a good day.....Dave
