hi all, i'm 30 years old, female, and have a history of depression (suspected bpd but not diagnosed)
in '98 i was put on
zoloft, and it worked great for a long time, until about '03 when i started having panic attacks..so my doc switched me to
lexapro (used a
xanax bridge until i got settled on the xanax, and it worked like a dream, panic attacks stopped)
well, the lexapro worked great until my pharmacy decided to quit carrying it, so now i have a new prescription for
celexa.
another note, while i was on the zoloft, i ended up pregnant with my third child, and under doctor's supervision continued taking the medication throughout the pregnancy and through breast feeding. no apparent effects on my daughter (who is now 4). now, i'm pregnant again, and i'm not so sure about switching to this new drug.
plus the fact that i am pretty much weaned off of everything, due to hyperemesis gravidarum during the first trimester, anything and everything i tried to consume came back up, and taking any kind of pills made it worse. so right now, i'm kind of a blank slate.
as for how i'm feeling, i guess it's ok, i'm definitely having some mood swings, but they aren't anything like i normally have when not medicated, these are more just typical hormonal surges (for instance, i'll swear and stomp my foot instead of breaking anything within grasp if i get angry), and i haven't had any suicidal thoughts, which i also have a lot of when not medicated, normally.
so, i haven't been taking the medication..i plan on talking to my doctor at my next visit and admitting that i'm not taking the meds, but i wanted to get some feedback from real people who have experience with these meds...
also, if i do take it, when is the best time of day? i've read that it can cause drowsiness AND sleeplessness...and i don't want my precious sleep disturbed lol...especially since it won't be long until i'll only get a couple of hours at a time before i have to get up to pee..and then have to get up to feed the baby...
