Robert: So sorry about the misunderstanding this is not meant to be slamming the rehab centers I do apoligize. The rehab centers here take away all your privilages. I have friends that have attended these centers with no luck. My son attended one of these centers He was not allowed to call or recieve calls for 4 weeks. His stories of how he was treated and other peoples experiences were to close to the same treatment as a human. We got him in a mmt program he is doing great has been in for over two years and is on his way down in doses. I am 52 yrs. old with over 20+ years of taking prescription meds and am also in ammt program which saved my life and my family. I do again apoligize for any misunderstanding. God Bless

Robert, I apologize for rambling in my last couple of posts. I am just so filled with diff emotions and no one to share them with. I am still debating if I should tell my mom before I start the sub taper or after...

I am sure that you are a very busy man and I would be more than grateful to receive help and guidance from you as I do this. Is it okay if I keep posting while my w/d's are progressing so that I can get your feedback?

well im ANOTHER 1 wanting to switch ,im at 100mg for 10 months no takehomes from pot use, ,so i need subs, my job has insurance, 50$ a week, dam its alot, how much is suboxone n subutex,its the 1 i want. im love the mdone rush all day wish i could do it 4eva , but im still a drugie in treatment , i hav a long storie ill share later , k cc

You need to reduce tapering down on the methadone until you get to 30mg. You're at way too high of a dose to start sub therapy. I don't really like hearing you talk about how much you love the rush from the methadone. I'm not judging you but are you sure that you're ready for this? Subs are not a cure, they are just a tool to help opiate addicts get clean. Most people who are successful with subs would have gotten clean some other way if they weren't available. You have to get your head in the proper frame of mind and there is no fudging on the 30mg dose. No way I would ever do this with you at 100mg of methadone, you'll end up sick and on a ridiculous dose of subs. Seriously taper down on the methadone like I mentioned. Subs only work if you use them properly. I know what I'm talking about and I will be more than happy to help you when you get your dose down. Of course the 30mg of methadone won't give you that rush you're talking about. God bless.

i agree with robert. from all the posts i have read of yours (including the deleted one) you seem to only care about the money side of this deal. if methadone wasnt such a tie, and thru a clinic, you would carry on forever. i dont think you are ready to come off.... you posted you were goin cold turkey coz you couldnt afford to carry on with the methadone. now you want subs, but they are 50 bucks a week. (big deal i used hundreds of dollars a day)

you have to want this crazyclearwater, and i beleive you just want a quick and cheap way of keeping on using

hey i wasnt lookin but only for info, man,,i know the deal ,,goto 30 n wait a few days , iread alot , now when i started mmt dec last year ,i posted here n robert ,the first reply was u dont need to b a slave to methadone, so i new this in the back of my mind, but now almost a year later im the same frekin guy,,so im tryn 2 find another way out n subs is the only way,in the back of my mind i see the guy snortin the STUFF on trulife,looks good to me, ne hes fine like me on mdone.
,,my job offers insurance 1ce year ,its nxt month,,if i take it,, itwill cost 50 a week ,,+ the doc n the meds,thats gona b more than 400 a month so mmt prob cheaper,(IT IS ABOUT COST MINLY, BUT I NEVER SHOT UP SO I THINK SUB WILL WORK,, ITS GONA B HARD TO LOWER TO 30,,
, id rather stay on mmt ,i got my 1st th last sat n another 1 in 20 more days,so i think ill stay n taper for a year , but im not ready ,,like i said,,im truthfull n people hate it,, i love the methadone,its a wonder drug,awesome results, i want it 4 life n id love a split dose of double wat i take now.n id b fine,cruzin thru life ,scoring at work n havin fun, its worth 14$ DAY

it will get you eventually. the longer you stay on it.... the harder it is to get off... fact...

not to mention the LIQUID HANDCUFFS. you cant go away, you have no freedom to just miss a day, you cant just go, ah im gonna head off for the weekend, coz you need your meds.....

I have to say I agree with the sentiments expressed in this post. Methadone is an insipid drug that WILL one day rob you of just about everything you hold dear. Hell, I've only been on it steadily for just over Two years and already hate the stuff.

I too thought, hey, this is great when I first started, now I realise it's ruined my metabolism and I'm pretty sure my Testosterone production is way down. I've put on weight, I sweat like a stuck pig, have no interest in sex, have violent mood swings etc. I could go on.

You need to stabilise and taper down to 30mg's before swapping over to Subutex, even then you have to REALLY want to get clean to stand half a chance of success. Please listen to the good advice being offered to you by some very experienced users.
