methadone help

so i just wanted every body to know ive been on suboxone since june 09 and im doing great no setbacks and no urges thanks for everyones help i know this is a lifelong thing but for now im doing great

hi dave and out long time no speak! i took a hihtist (spelling)
im starting detox with methadone on monday i got to the point where i almost ODed so i ll be gone for a couple of day or weeks its a lobg road but its something i have to do. i just cant take being on pain meds anymore.i got to my lowest piont . they said that i have ti get off my klonpin and replace it with valium or atiavan which makes no sence to me because i dont abuse my klonopin or dexedrine (for ADHD) i though valium and ativan were more addective but hey what do i know and they said ill be on methadose for the withdrawl and the pain that im suffering ....so on that note i ve read some of the stories on this message board Dave thats quite a story i cabnt believe that you were taking 3000mg of morphine i thought you would be dead man! but i guess if your used to it id been on pain meds on and off for 16 yrs just the past 4 years its gotten bad im mean a bottle of 60 perks 10/650's would last me 3 days. i was doctor hopping or going to the ER for diludid i love diludid thats my drug of choice my doc said thats the number 1 drug sold on the streets here but it got expensive so i gave up and just got it from the Er through the IV 4 mgs of diludid. boy what a trip. but i relize i need to give all that up so i start monday im gonna get clean once and for all !

Ha Ha 80mgs,I had 90mills of oxcycodone for breakfast at 6.30am and at 9 have another 100mgs for coffee and you can seee how the rest of the day went,500-600 a day,yes a day!! I quit 16 months ago. Not ine slip,including hand surgury,NO Pain med!! It took one day with suboxone and a few months to wheen offf the suboxone,Then all of a sudden CLEAN!!!!If you truly do not want to have to be sitting here and also thinking when is your next or your friends next appt,or how many do i have ?? I know i did it 24-7. It sucks,you hate yourself and what you have become!! Try the suboxone,I have personally had EVERY friend that got hooked clean now,with one little orange stopsign!!And please this is in no way a ad for this drug!! Also I am not full of sh.. like some of you may think. I am the boy next store,the one that could never get hooked on DRUGS! Welll it happened slowly but surely,IT will ,All be well enjoy the day.

As i have posted in the past few days now that i just started methadone 5mg 4x's a day for chronic pain in the wrist/hand. I find at this amount without taking two perc's a day with the meth. that i still feel the pain. At the start of the methadone i was feeling very sick to my stomach and itchy. I was taking 4 percocet's a day 10mg. I have no idea why i itch with it and have been reading alot of peoples replys on methadone and never saw itching as any side effects. I never itched till i took it, and did not read it as any side effects for the medicine. I do not have any hives, or red spots on my body at all. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I am curious if my meth is also raised to another 10mg a day if it will only make the itching worse, and make the pain go away with a higher dose without having to use percocets with it. I see the doc on Thurs. but was hopeing someone could tell me before then. Thank you.

This is a common side effect and can be cleared up by getting some benedryl or any antihistamine for that matter but benedryl seems to be the preferred choice.Once you get on a st5able dose of methadone it will likely diminish the effects of the oxycodone (percocet).That's ok though as methadone at the right dose is a much more potent and effective pain killer.Good luck......Dave
