You will always find people with both good and negative experiences with most any drug. But lyrica has been very successful in treating nerve related pain. Good luck and God bless.

If you do decide to try the lyrica remember that it sometimes takes a little while to receive the full effects. Don't get discouraged if you don't see a marked improvement immediately. Give it a little time. God bless.

My doctor just prescribed Lyrica for me to take to help with depression
since I had no luck with many depression medications which I also
cannot take because I do not have a thyroid. I have been on Xanax Xr
and Xanax for a while after trying many seizure medications. But
after a bad car accident and I have herniated C5 and C6 discs in my
neck any stress and anxiety is causing inflammation, back and neck pain
and swelling. My main thing is the side effects - I am very sensitive
and I was wondering if you heard back from anyone saying when
taking this medication they experienced slow motor skills, their
reaction while driving is not as sharp, memory issues, feeling fatigued
and having a hard time getting up in the morning? He only gave
25mg to take he is hoping by helping me relax and sleep better at
night and not having anxiety and stress at night it will help
with the stess not building up in my neck and the pain I have.

It stopped the pain, but made me ravenously hungry & constipated. i felt so uncomfortable and a fraid of weight gain, i had to quit.

i hope you don't get those side effects! Good luck.

Thumbs up Update on my lyrica use

I have now been taking 75mg of Lyrica twice daily for a week, and have noticed that my nerve pain and chronic back pain has decreased tremedously. I noticed less pain within the first day of using the Lyrica. I do however have a MUCH bigger appetite, so I will have to watch out for weight gain, but that is the least of my problems, I am just relieved that I don't have to spend everyday whining in pain. Hope that anyone give Lyrica a try!!!

Glad the lyrica seems to be working well for you. I've read lots of positive reports on lyrica. Every medication has people who have had bad reactions as well but for the most part lyrica has a good history with most patients. I have talked with several rheumatologists who have had success using it with patients having rheumatic illnesses.

You are wise to to be on gaurd though regarding the weight gain. It's a very real possibility and side effect. Not everyone who uses it gains weight necessarily but weight gain is a major side effect of lyrica. Take care and God bless.
