Dizziness has set in towards the late afternoon and I keep blinking my eyes a lot to try to stablize myself, feeling speeded up too. I decide to stop the Rx because I wasnt feeling as great as I did when I started. I was sleeping 14+ hours, I was a zombie, no ambition anymore and I was feeling depressed. I gained almost 30lbs. I was a size 2 and now 6-8. I am not comfortable in my body so I decided to stop. I am very nervous about these side effects, scared and not knowing what to expect nor how long they last.. Does anyone have a similar story---how long will this last? , | Unfortunately the symptom's you are having will likely get worse long before they get better. You tappered off to quickly with 50% dose reduction. I know that is how dr's say to quit but, that is the wrong way to do it. I highly recomend that you re-instate you'r lexapro at least back to the 5 mg. If you feel well and stable at that dose then you can wait a few week's to a month on the dose where you are stable then GRADUALLY taper off. It is not recomended to taper more than 2-5% with each dose reduction. The longer you have used an SSRI, the longer you must taper to reduce withdrawl/discontinuation symptoms. Taper AT LEAST one month for every one year that you have been on the med.....Erin |
