Default lexapro withdrawal. please help

Ok, I might be far off on this, but I am really bad about taking my meds. I ran out while I was away at school and just started taking my 20 mg dosage again for the first time in about 3-4 weeks. I would take it every once in a while when I could get my hands on one, but for the most part I just quit cold turkey b/c I didn’t have a refill. I know this is bad. But this hasn't been the first time this happened.
Ok, so last time this happen I experienced withdrawals, but I also remember getting really sick, almost like the flu. high fever, chills, sweats, and just hurting all over. We thought it was just a virus but when my roommate never caught it, we thought that it may be a side effect from quitting my lexapro so fast.
Well this past week I had the same thing... high fever, flue like symptoms, I mean literally the same thing. And I have been off of my medicine for about 3-4 weeks again, just like last time. Do y'all think that this flu like virus could actually be a withdrawal symptom? I just didn't think withdrawal could be that bad.
Please, if anybody could answer whether or not they think that was a withdrawal symptom I would really appreciate it!
