Default Lexapro

Recently prescribed this for mild anger issues relating to my slow recovery from heart bypass operation.

When is best time to take this. Morning/noon/night???

I take 20 mg of Lexapro a day and take it at 5:00 when I get up. Because one of the side effects is insomnia, I would think first thing in the morning would be the best time to take it.

I have also started on Lexapro (10 mg.) because Paxil CR is not currently available (something to do with the manufacturer). I don't know what to expect but right now I'm feeling nauseous. Maybe it's not from the Lexapro but from what I had to eat for supper! (LOL!). I don't really like taking antidepressant meds but I am going downhill fast (anger, irritability, impatience, etc.) and I've got to do something positive for myself.

Why does your doctor have you on Lexapro for anger problems. Lexapro is an anti-depressant and OCD medication. There are lots of good drugs out there for anger problems and you could probably benefit was much from getting some therapy. It is very common for people who have been through major medical problems, such as yourself, to experience depression. Do you have any of the warning signs of Depression too? Who is prescribing this med for you? You really should have a psychiatrist do, this is their field and they can monitor your progress on a regular basis, which should be done when you are depressed or on psych. meds. If you are seeing a Psychiatrist, they have told you when and how to take your medicine, and it is written on the label on the bottle, according to the instructions given by your doctor on the prescription. All drugs are not always prescribed the same way for everyone.

Best Wishes,
Casey
