Default Intermittent usage of Risperdol in children

Does anyone know if/what are the neurological/emotional effects of using Rispedol intermittently.
My Eight year old has been taking 0.5mgs 3 times a day for a year. He is also taking Dexamphetamine 5mgs 3 times a day.
He has been being assessed now since Jan 2001, to no avail.
Presently he has both meds 4 days a week, then nothing for 3 days a week whilst attending tier 4 services. He is virtually uncontrollable for the 3 days unmedicated, violant and destructive beyond belief. He also doesn't go to school as He doesn't want to and apparently that is acceptable. Arghhhh. Help
