Default fibromyalgia and ultram

Hello. Have you guys been prescribed with ultram as your pain reliever for FM? I would like to know and what else do you do to ease the pain? Have a pain-free day.. Thanks.

Hi rubbersoul
I have had fibro for as long as i can remember...IT SUCKS...
My doctor started me out on untram and vic's,but it didn't work to well so there I started on my 3 year addiction with pain pills.I just keeped getting stronger and stronger pain pills,
Then I had my fibro pain and my pain pill pain.so now I take aleeve and it does help...as I tell everyone with fibro cut out the sugar and flour for a few weeks and see if it lets up a little, also the other thing you wont want to hear is exercise...LOL I know what your saying how can i do that when I'm in so much pain.
It will save you I promise...I started out walking on the treadmill 2 min a day
and worked my way up to running a mile a day...yes I still hurt but I can live with it,,,
Wish you the best, Melinda

ps let me know if I can help

Be carefull with ultram as it is addictive even though it isn't classified as an opiate. Lyrica is the new wonder drug for fibro patients. I have personally seen what this drug does for fibro patients and I would recommend it to you in a minute. Good luck......Dave

I agree with melinda about the changes in diet as well as exercise. I've worked with lots of people having autoimmune diseases of which fibro is included. I have three autoimmune diseases myself including RA(Rheumatoid Arthritis), Raynaud's Phenomenon and APS (Antiphospholipid Syndrome). The moderate exercise helps a lot with the chronic fatigue accompanied with fibro and other diseases in this class. If the pain persists Dave's suggestion of trying lyrica is also a good idea. Like all medications some people do better on lyrica than do others, but it's quickly becoming the medication of choice for pain related to nerve issues such as fibro. Good luck and God bless.
