I have been on a the drug effexor for the last 3 years. i was up to 135 mg daily. 6 months I started feeling really depressed again adn suicidal. I decided it would be bext to discontinue.

over the last 3 months i have taken lower and lower dosages. I am alomost down to nothing, I say "almost" because I find myself still needing to take half of the 35 mg capsule (17 mg) about every 3 days. Every few days I start feeling really dizzy and tired. This has been going on now for almost a month. I really don't think 17 mg is significant but apparently it is and within and hour i am less dizzy and back to normal. I am trying to get off the medication all together but cant seem to do it.

I remember one time i ran out of my prescription for effexor and my doctor was on vacation for 2 weeks and the other doctors would not even give me enough to last me until she got back. i ended up in the emergeny room at the hospital after 4 days because I was experience the most horrific withdrawel symptoms. That was when I was taking 135mg a day.

I am ony taking 17 mg every 3 or 4 days now (only whe is start experiencing the dizzy). I also can't seem to take any less the 17 mg or i still experience the dizzy.

it is getting really annoying and if anyone has had an experience like this let me know!!
