Default Duragesic Patch Question

Quick question - I have been on the duragesic patch (25) for about 2 months now. I will "run out" of patches a few days before my next doctor's appointment (and I can't get in to see him any sooner), so I was wondering if I should expect to suffer any sort of withdrawals in the few days I won't have a patch on?

I do have a prescription for Ultram that I could fill to work on the pain in the interim....

TIA for any answers you can provide!

Usually after 12 hours without opiades the body starts to go into W/D, the tramadol will help slightly, but it's a penny compared to a dollar in strength. Call the office and see if you can drop by and pick up your next script early, they should be concerened that you're out and will go into W/D, but also question why you ran out early.
Be careful, one of the signs of addiction rather then dependance is taking your meds before the refill date, you don't want put into that category, they may consider you for pain mgmt.

I have run out of duragesic patches at a time when my Dr. was out of town. I went to our local hospital and took the boxes the patches came in with me to show how much fentanyl I was on. I also left the old patches on my back. I didn't think it was going to do any good but I was desperate.

The Dr. there didn't give me a script, but he order the ones I had on to be replaced and told me to come back if I hadn't reached me Dr. in three days. What a relief!!

I will not walk in front of you. I will not walk behind you. I will walk beside you as your equal.

No addiction - the doctor went on vacation over the holidays, and scheduled my appointment for more than a month after my last visit. I don't understand why anyone would get addicted to these patches - they do nothing for me except end my pain. No high.

Thank you for your suggestion.

For those that have a valid reason to use pain meds it is common that there is no high.
I would suggest you make some sort of arrangement since Tramadol will do very little for the W/D
