Hello. I have a problem that requires me to take an antipsychotic. In this case, Invega. The only problem is that antipsychotics lower my mood, make me feel bad, so I need something to counteract that.
I've tried many SSRIs, Edronax, Wellbutrin, Biperiden. None worked. What actually worked was St. John's Wort, but it wasn't strong enough.
I must take Invega because I can't get along without it.
So my doc gave me this time Desipramine 150 mg and buspirone.
There's just a slight mood improvement, even slighter than St. John's Wort's.
I think the ideal solution would be Ritalin, because I took it a long time ago while taking Zyprexa without my doctor's knowledge and it really elevated my mood.
But my doc refuses to prescribe me Ritalin because he says it will counteract the antipsychotic effect of Invega's.
So I came here for a second opinion. I'm really desperate. What are my options? Is Ritalin a good solution? Please help me
