Default Chantix

Has anyone tried this? Was it effective? What were your experiences, side effects. I'm quitting smoking, any suggestions?

Thumbs down

I actually just tried this product. Not a very fun experience. Supposedly if you smoke while taking the drug it makes your dreams very vivid, and of course i was smoking while on it and sure enough... It also made me extremely irritable, tired and disoriented. I thought that it was just the initial side effects, but it kept happening for weeks so i just stopped. Feel much better now, still smoking though.

GOOD LUCK

I know three people personally who used Chantix unsuccessfully trying to stop smoking. The dreams and irritability seemed almost overwhelming from what I've heard. I'm sure there are some success stories too just like with almost anything.

Stopping cigerettes by yourself is kind of like going cold turkey from drugs. It hurts for a short time but then it's over with. I think Chantix is just one more product the drug companies use to make money off people who are desperate. Gopd luck. Stopping is difficult but so worth it. God bless.

Chantix is one of those FDA approved drugs which can be used to get over smoking habit. It works on body by giving you the same feel good effect like smoking and hence reduces the craving for nicotine. You can have all the information on chantix here http://www.chantixhome.com/ This medicine should only be used in accordance with the instructions of a physician as there are various side effects which may vary from person to person and it includes change of taste, sleeplessness and many more. I have smoked for more than 10 yrs, but now I am spending a smoke free life from last 2 months. Thanks to chantix. Along with having this medicine, you should also have will power and feeling that you want to get over this habit.

Exclamation Chantix--BE CAREFUL

I would like to say, "just dont", but, as a ex-smoker, I know how difficult it is to stop. (I smoked 2 packs, 25 yrs). But, if you take Chantix, be very careful, especially, if you have a tendency towards depression, ansiety, or, are on any other meds for "psych"! If you become suicidal (alot of people do--dont let them tell you diufferent) just tell yourself it is the drug and stop it immediately. That is my adivice. If you have only been smoking a few yrs, the patches and gum should do it. Chantix is NOT FUN

It 'worked'
for me,. but, the nicotine patches wouldve been alot simpler.

Default skin rash?

Has anyone experienced this from using chantix? My bf has been on it for about two months now, is very irritable (irrationally so, although he has reason given my own withdrawal from Hydrocodone).

The rash started at his ankles and is moving up his legs-very itchy and does not seem to be going away.

Any experience/info?

thanks, Sue
