Default Chantix

I was just wondering if anyone else was getting severly nauseated from taking Chantix? I have been on it a little over two weeks and I have had severe nausea off and on since, also instead of increased appetite with quitting smoking, I am having the opposite effect, and have lost six pounds, wich would be fine but I weighed 106 to begin with and now I look annorexic, anyone else having similiar side effects?

Thanks Dave, I did a little more research on this site and found that quite a few people have the same side effects, but will try to keep it up. Good luck with your attempt to quit!

Just like you I to have had a suppressed appetite. I also have been having unusual dreams. Dreams that are disturbing that include suicide. I am a 39 year old male, no previous health or mental issues. I am on day 9 of the medicine and am considering discontinuing usage. I have to say my thoughts are "foggy", wish I could describe the symptom better than that but I cannot put a finger on exactly what is different. I have stopped smoking for the last 3 days, but I am not sure if its the med or just will power. I also had severe abdominal cramps during day 3 thru 6. Smoking seemed to trigger it.
Hope we are not alone, I would love to here some more feedback.

I had a semi similiar experience to you. I started having crazy dreams, then I started believing my dreams were reality and it just turned into a trainwreck from there. I had to be hospitalized, I guess If I quit I'll have to use something else.

Talking chantix

I just wanted to let people know how wonderful Chantix is. I stopped smoking over 8 months ago. I smoked for over 20 years. Stopped a while ago but went back to it. I read alot of negative things regarding Chantix but decided to try it anyway. I definitely would get nauseous but if I ate something even yogurt before taking it, I was fine. I had the vivid dreams Not scary just very real. I truly believe the medication does something to your nicotine receptors in your brain because I had no withdrawal and am now completely over it. No cravings or anything. Even if I were to have a glass of wine or any alcohol, I don't want a cigarette. I only completed one packet dose and one week of another. I think people who say it doesn't work for them truly are not ready to quit. That's where it starts first. After you are ready, Chantix is just a great help. Good Luck to everyone trying to quit. It is the hardest thing I had ever done.
