Default carbonyl iron absorption

Many doctors told me that calcium (any form of calcium) interferes with the absorption of iron (any form of iron). But recently i saw one brand by name citracal prenatal which contain both carbonyl iron and calcium citrate in which they mentioned that since calcium citrate is available in organic form it does not interfere with the absorption of carbonyl iron. Please tell me whether it is true. can we take both these supplements together?
