Worsening depression is common happening after one has taken anti-depressants.
A *very* good thing to take to lessen (and for many gets rid of depression( is fish oil, either Carlson's (liquid version) or Shaklee's capsule version. Fish oil should be taken with
Vitamin E to get the best benefit. The Vitamin E must have Selenium AND *natural* tocopherols with it. Take the fish oil and the Vitamin E along with a multivitamin (not Centrum or one of those), it needs to be an organic source. Take Flaxseed oil--Barleen's (you get this in a health food store; it must be refrigerated--check the date on the bottle for the most current pressing date. (They press the seeds to get the oil out of them).
Drink, drink, drink water---so important.
Eat LOTS of fresh veggies, some fruit, and protein. With all meals--keep it lean--chicken, fish, lean hamburger, and have one egg a day. Don't worry about cholestrol--God put the yolk there because it contains lecithin which breaks down the fats. The lecithin is healing for the brain as well as the protein keeping your blood sugar level.
Get out in the sunshine for at least 30 minutes a day; spend that time walking--doesn't have to be a fast pace either, just walk. If walking isn't possible then bring a favorite magazine or book and just sit in the sunshine. Have a nice cool drink of water with you and enjoy!
Drink some lemon water (squeeze a lemon, use the pulp too)--it keeps the body in balance from being too acidic. You're probably thinking, 'but lemons are acidic!' Yes the are, but when they enter the stomach they cause the body to return to a more alkaline state, which is much healther for us. Drink this about an hour before you go to bed. If you're brave add some flaxseed oil (the kind you have to keep refrigerated).
Keep a "gratitude" journal--write at least 5 things you are thankful for each day. They don't have to be big grandeous things. When you start doing this all of a sudden you notice things in the world around you that were formerly taken for granted. It's amazing what a benefit to the mind and body this is.
Go to bed early; keep the room dark so your body can produce the
melatonin it needs for emotional well being.
None of these things can be done for just a few days and then we will all be better. It's important to do this regime *every* day for the rest of our lives. Our bodies have been *poisoned* by the antidepressants so we must nurture them back to health and continue pursuing a healthy life style in all areas of our lives.
THE FOLLOWING FOUR SUBSTANCES will cause our brains to produce a lower amount of the neurotransmitters we need for a healthy mood. Our brain receives these substances into the receptor areas that usually receive the neurotransmitters, which in turn causes the brain to stop making a healthy level of neurotransmitters. The more you ingest these substances the more you inhibit your body from producing the neurotransmitters (we wind up with a depleted supply) *AND* the more dependent we become on these sources of "mood lifters". All four substances *must* be removed from the diet inorder to restore health to the brain and body.
