Here's a good explanation to what Restoril (Temazepam) is. Temazepam belongs to the class of medications called benzodiazepines. It is used for the treatment of short-term sleeping problems associated with difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakenings during the night, or early morning awakenings. It works by slowing down the central nervous system (CNS).
It should only be used for a couple weeks at a time as it's addictive and you get tolerent to it quickly. The one thing you want to avoid at all costs is benzodiazepine withdrawls, they can be fatal.
Good luck.....Dave |
