Default 7 weeks

I have been on wellbutrin xl for 7 weeks now. At first I was on 300 mg and they just upped my dosage to 450. I am very very petite and usually I receive the smaller dosage of pills(not AD's but just like antibiotics and stuff). I feel no difference whatsoever. I dont know if that has to do with the severity of the depression or if it just randomly works on some people and not others. The only time I felt something, was the night of the first day I took it. My psychiatrist says that its not possible, but I'm very sure that it was the wellbutrin. Maybe thats part of its malfunction? Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know of any other AD's that work better? Please respond I really want to feel better for christmas. Thank you in advance

Stick with it!!!It takes anti depressents 6 weeks minimum to begin to work. That's why alot of people fail on them because they don't wait long enough.Hang in there and try and get out for a walk in the morning and again after supper. The reason why I suggest this is walking helps promote endorphin production in our brains and endorphins are what makes us feel happy and they also take care of our pain. Most depressed people have low endorphin levels among other things.Give it a try and let me know how you make out.X-mas is going to be good for you,you watch and see.......Dave

thanks alot.. I just thought it was supposed to take like 4 weeks, and im getting pretty impatient. but I guess I should wait it out because if I switch to a new AD I will just have to wait longer.

Yes thats why so many people fail when trying an ssri.Hang in there and if your not feeling any better in 2 more weeks then it's time to make your case to the doctor.I know exactly how you feel and it's a terrible way to be but there is help and hope just hang in there.......Dave
