Default Zithromax Severe Allergic Reaction

My son is recovering from an advanced case of pneumonia. When we went to the emergency room he was given an iv of Zithromax and pills to take home. He had a severe allergic reaction where his entire body broke out into a severed rash. Meds were changed 2 days later to Omincef but the rash is still very bad on his hands and feet beneath his skin. Is there some sort of topical treatment we can give him to get the rash to disappear? He is already taking an antahistamine.
