Couldn't take withdrawal and went to emergency and spilled my guts. They notified my pain doctor and he booted me out. Am I in some kind of addict database now or can I simply find another doctor? Not doing for recreation as I do have cronic disease. It just got out of hand and was doing more than I should.

Just out of curiosity, what did they do for you at the ER? Did they give you something to help with the withdrawals?

I would also like to know what they did at the ER. I'm not sure where you live but I believe the information you gave them was confidential and unless you signed a release, they can't provide the information to anyone else unless they believe it was a matter of life and death.

Hospitals put information into the MIB ( Medical Information Bureau). Insurance companies have access to it, pharmacies enter scripts into the MIB, privacy is a joke once you sign any release statements. And that's one of the first things you sign with any dr/hospital/ER ... even an eye dr is going to get a release signed.

Employers only have access to certain information their insurers are able to get for them but you can forget about privacy in this system. Anyone with money and who knows someone with access can find out anything they want about you. I can tell you everything there is to know about anyone for a fee. That's a fact.

I think it's disgusting but such is our system of doing things. God bless.
