Default Ultram addiction, need new pill

I suffer from a bad case of Rheumatoid Arthritis and just got over the withdrawals of ultram.

I need a pill, not sold over the counter, as a pain killer that is non-addictive, does anything exist? Besides Celebrex and select muscle relaxers?

I don't think there are completely non-addictive painkillers that aren't sold over the counter...

What made being addicted to tramadol so bad? That is assuming it helped with your pain.
Let's say it wasn't addictive and it still helped with your pain, would you still be taking it now? Tramadol isn't bad as far as side effects and your liver is concerned. If you were abusing it like taking too many at a time, then I do apologize. But don't feel bad if your taking something that helps you and your not abusing it.

But to answer your question there aren't many prescription medications for pain that truly help and that aren't opiates.

Reumatoid arthritis is very painful and most otc drugs just won't cut the pain.My wife has in the last year developed reaumatoid arthritis and she tried everything otc and nothing worked. She does take MSM,Glucosamine,Calcium,Indomethacine(a prescription anti-inflamatory),Folic Acid,Magnesium,Sulfinpyrazone and halibut oil.Along with these she takes 60 mgs of MS Contin (sustained release morphine) twice a day.Even with the morphine her hands swell so bad she can't close them.It seems to wane alot, she'll go a weekend feeling pretty good and not even take the morphine to taking the morphine monday and still having pain. It's a tuff disease to control but exercise is vital for all arthritis patients........Dave
