Default Ultram addiction anyone?

I am getting off of it on my own and hope there is advice out there. I don't have the income for professional help, so i hope you might have some advice to give.

I used it for over a year for Rehumatoid Arthritis. Sometimes I used a little, sometimes a lot but the very rare side effects caused too much problems with body swelling.

Anyway, I have gone down to 1/2 a pill at 11am and 1/2 at 11pm. I have been a little over 2 days without any now and have milder problems than when i stopped cold turkey (bad move there).

I was wondering that if anyone has come off this, do you have an estimate on how long it took to stop the body aches, cold sweats, panic attacks and nervousness along with stomach aches?

I feel sometimes like i will pop out of my skin with too much annoying energy.

Thanks in advance. I tried talking in a Rheumatoid Forum but they don't understand and yelled that i can't be sick cuz it isn't an addictive drug even though they are very wrong.

Thanks.

wow. they are crazy. there are tons of posts here saying how majorly addictive it is and how it is harder to withdraw from than any of the major opiates such as percocet, vicodin, demerol, morphine, codeine, whatever!!! you are doing awesome though, and i am really proud of you. i am detoxing from percocet right now and it is really hard. it usually takes about a week before you start feeling better. five days and you will be through the worst physical part. i don't know if ultram is give or take a little more? but this is average for opiates and they say ultram is not a true opiate. i have taken it before, but people told me how awful it was to come off of so i am scared of it.percocet is totally bad enough and i could not imagine worse! just keep it up and u will soon be through it u r almost there!!!!!

Thanks for your kind words.

The people i have come into contact with seem to only believe what they read which is sad should they ever get on this pain killer.

I guess there aren't any good things to take out there and that concerns me should i need to take large pain killers again.

Each day I feel just a little bit better. Today I had all this odd energy and cleaned up the living room which is rare for me. Ultram caused so much swelling and pain that i could hardly stand up without help, open jars etc. and I have done all that myself in the last 24 hrs which is very nice.

I hope you do well on yours and remember, just take one day at a time and get the pills that you may have left out of your home. If you can't do it yourself, get someone who can. If it isn't there, you won't think about it as much (so i have learned).

God bless.

LADYBIRD: yes, i had to flush the ultrams i had down the toilet so i would not take them in place of the percocet. you should come over to the painkiller addiction forum and post with us. everyone over there is really nice, supportive, and informitive and all of us are basically in the same boat right now. it really helps while going through this! try it out..
