Hey people,

ive read lots and lots to which i rekon i'll write my current issuse and see what
feedback i get.

ive been on methadone for around 2 years, most of which in the last year have been at 30 mg.
i wont go over where i was but where i am now, i live in the UK and see my
local CDT (drugs team) for my methadone addiction.
ive decided to go on suboxone and have been in withdrawl now since my last dose @ 30 mg. tuesday 8.00am.
i am on a supervised prescripition to start at the chemist tomorrow, i can go at the latest time of 4.30pm.
i have also been given 4 mg. suboxone take home to take as late as possible(whenever that maybe) i am then supposed to go upto 8 mg. then 12 mg. if i can remember rightly on the ongoing days.
i do get weekend take homes for saturday and sunday !
the problem with the UK is we get NHS so the doctors are more in control of how you script shall work and to be honest alot of them no jack all.(spesh my doctor at the CDT)..

it would be great to hear any comment or advise on my situation, spesh Robert

will they be giving you subs to take home or will you have to take them in front of the chemist?

Sorry I'm not feeling well. I see that you're taking them at home only on weekends. I would tell them you don't want that high of a dose and see how they react. I can induct you at 4-6mg and have you clean in two months. See if they will work with you at all and let me know. God bless.

geeze i wish you was my doctor, i am very worried about my comming days and what i have to deal with. as it stands there intent on what is wrote up for the week at least.
so i gotta work round that. i do have an appointment to discuss the way things are going on monday and i will push any advise on them you do give me, and id greatly appreciate yours words for my current situation..

Here is a link to the way I have successfully advised people on how to use subs for years right here. The success stories are countless. I would print the link and take it with you. Tell them this is what you want to do. Perhaps they will give in a little. I am not new at this, been doing it here for a long time. Let me know how things go for you. God bless.

how would you say i go about till monday then ? im worried about pre withdrawls and im ment to take my 4 mg. take home before i pick up at the chemist tomorrow ? what to do ? ahhh !
ive been going now for 36 hours and im so angry with the CDT and doctor for giving me no useful info at all !

If you can get your meds tomorrow that is okay. You can stand on your head for one more day. My concern is how much suboxone they are going to induct you with and how much they are going to make you take. 36 hours in detox off methadone prior to sub induction is proper. But I hate to see you prescribed your subs wrong. Keep me posted what's happening. God bless.

i no starting at 8 mg. carn't be any good, i do have 4 mg. here at home which ive not taken as its been pushed on me i feel to fast and to much, but i have the chance to drop over weekend and maybe push them to change my dose on monday ?
its seems im gonna be taking my dose around 50 hours whatever happens or i get no dose at all ?

I would not go over 8mg period in a day unless they held me down and forced it under my tongue and held my mouth shut until it dissolved. And it would take at least three or four of them to pull that off if they were good size guys yielding weapons. God bless.

Urgh, been 50 hours now with jack all. im so worried about going to the chemist and having to take my dose today. i can leave it for another 4 hours, but i do think i could handle prewithdrawls im only just coping now!!!

Being in detox for 50 hours coming off methadone is really not a big deal although I know you feel like hell. It often takes at least 72 hours for a person to be ready (at a 26 on the COWS worksheet) as methadone lingers with us for SOOO long. After 50 hours off methadone the w/d could be just starting to be significant at all.

We need to wait longer coming off methadone than with any other opiate out there prior to a sub induction. I woulnd't even touch that 4mg that you have. I inducted a guy from France last month or in August coming off methadone and believe it or not we did it at 1.2mg total. WE used the .4mg pills that are available in Europe. I know the .4mg pills are available in France and some other European countries, I believe they have them in Australia and New Zealand as well (not sure about those two), but I don't know for sure about the availability in the UK.

The point is that all the 12mg and 16mg business these drs are pushing is a crock of doo doo. Just remember that for whatever my opionion is worth to you. Remember to print and take that link I sent you in a few posts back about how we do subs here. Pay special attention and point out to the chemist there the INDUCTION section and how it's done with VERY small doses. God bless.

had my dose today and don't really feel any better but didn't get any worse anyway, so i suppose will i be ok taking my dose tomorrow and will i feel better, it will be about 74 hours
