Hi all,
I have been reading these posts for a few days now, I wish I knew now, what I did not know when I started my Subs, I had a bad habit, I have been on the Subs for about 14 days, my rx bottle says Suboxone 8mg-2mg, I have downloaded the taper calender on this site in another section to hopefully use as a guide, I take 2 full pillls a day, 1/2 at 5am when I get up, another half at about 6:15 when I get to my shop, another 1/2 about 2pmish and the finale 1/2 at about 4 or 5ish, so far so good, I am norco free, but I want to get off as soon as it seems right. I saw my doctor today, he wants me on another month at least and then we will see where I am at and then start the taper, after reading all I have read on another threads in drugs.com, all about everyone's nightmare wds, I asked him today point blank about alot of things, he said there will be some discomfort, but I have a feeling it is alot unless done pretty much the way Robert steers you, I will not babble on, but can anyone tell me what I have and how to begin this journey I have gotten into, I really had no idea the real effect, I really thought I would take this miracle drug for a week or two, stop and go about my business , boy was I wrong ! Thanks ahead of time for all your posts and for all you have already done for me, the info here blows my mind !

I have already printed it and have it right here, what confuses me is the pill, is one of my pills 4mg, I am not good with this type of math, I am a guy who works with numbers, but not this type Or is 1/2 of one of my pills 4 mgs??

Your pills are 8mg buprenorphine and 2mg naloxone. The first thing is to get your dose lowered before too much time goes by. Everyone gets 16mg per day and then they end up some place like here trying to get off.

My suggestion would be to cut your daily dose back to 12mg per day immediately. Also there is NO reason to take suboxone four times a day. The half life is 36-72 hours. Doing that accomplishes nothing and it's addictive behavior taking meds all day long just like when we were pill heads.

You should be taking 6mg (3/4 pill) when you get up and about ten hours later. That's all you need to take it only twice. Do that for four days. Then you will be ready to reduce again and get down to a reasonable dose. Good luck and God bless.

Hi all,
Today it is only 10:43 am, I took the 3/4 this morning about 7ish, right now I am shaky, jittery and kind of sweaty and it is almost like a cloud is over me, I in no way feel normal, I have to go to House Of Blues at 1pm, my son is playing in a band play off for his school, I really do not know what to do, I do not feel normal, any suggestions !

Craig ..... I really wish I could have inducted you on the subs myself. You would be on about 6mg right now and feeling good. But we are where you are.

It's really in your best interest to push through the day without taking extra subs. The 16mg you were taking is too much for almost everyone and will only make things ultimately worse. If you allow your body to get acclimated to the 12mg and then we can taper you down more easily. You WILL start feeling better over the next day or so.

That's the best advice I can give. Get through this for a day or so and the rest of the taper will be easier because of that. God bless.

It comes and goes, I will make it, this is not that bad and I have no desire to mess this up now, the day is almost half over, and if this minor discomfort is all I feel, no worries, I will do as you direct, I really do not want this long term, I can do it, I have time and I will drink lots of water and sweat, the fog is gone for now, I will check in later today ! If I keep busy and I can, it will all be good !

I am all right, I went to my sons band Competition , they played at House Of Blues, Hollywood for the battle of the bands for schools, rock bands, he is 11, and they won first place, so I was busy and the day went by, but I made it and all is well, so I will do the same tomorrow and we can move forward, I will check in when I can in the morning ! Have a great night ! No they move on to The Hard Rock Cafe, next weekend !

Hi Tara...I to did not get a proper induction and thrown on 16 mg back in mid march lucky I found this forum soon after and Robert ....I'm finally almost at the end today is my first skip day...So you are in good hands with Robert so just listen to him and you will get thru this....

He plays guitar, it was so cool and I was fine and not high :So next Sunday, there is a something at The Hard Rock Cafe, it is when they get trophys and stuff and the band member and family get free lunch I have to say I was blown away, it was really cool !! And my son is walking on cloud infinity ! I took my 3/4 this morning and am fine as of 7:28 am, will check in throughout the day !D

Hi All, just checking in and all is well , like I said earlier, I took the 3/4 this morning, and I will take the other later today, so this will be day 2 lowering from 2 full pills split into 4 doses over one day , and down to 1.5 total for one day, taken early in the morning and taken at about 4 or 5 in the afternoon , so far so good, tomorrow I will ask what to do next ! Or you can tell me today , but I feel great ! Hope it lasts.

Today was a little rough, for some reason I felt bad this morning, but I have no choice, I have to keep moving forward and I did, and I got through the day, I just took my afternoon dose and feel good, so Robert what do I do next, day 4 on 1 1/2 pills will be tomorrow, any suggestions on next, do I cut the dose down 1/4 ?

Hi Craig .... finish up tomorrow on 12mg. Make sure you have a good day tomorrow. Then if is well drop to 8mg on Wednesday. I don't expect you'll have any trouble but going from 12mg to 8mg is being agressive. You should be feeling good while being agressive in your taper. Let me know tomorrow afternoon if you will. Hi Tara glad you are doing well...Thats cool about your son in a band hope he wins...I always wanted to play guitar but never did heck I can't even play fantasy guitar LOL....
When your dose's start to get lower you can smash a pill and divided it into separate lines and take the powder just make sure u mark them let me know if you need help...learned that from a friend on the forum it works like a charm. Search tired2 and post there in case I don't get back here.

Thanks for the info , so far so good, I find that the addict in is still alive and well , as it is hard to describe, but the pill taking is part of the fun, and I guess I just like putting things in my mouth ( no funny jokes) does that sound weird, sooooooooooooooo I need to find a way to get rid of that sensation of the pill poping, I took 15 or so pills a day for years, I had no medical reasons to be taking, just like being high, I fell normal all day now and it is weird, I found myself missing the high last night when I went ot bed, I am not going to go and get pills, I just relized last night the monster is still there and watching my every move ! I have to go, will check in later !

Craig ..... I'm glad to see you're realizing the part about being addicted to "putting things in your mouth all day!" That is a HUGE part of this. That is exactly why I always tell people to dose no more than twice each day. We've got to break that addiction of taking SOMETHING throughout the day. It's a BIG deal for you to realize this and be committed to doing something about it. Now we've just got to continue tapering your daily dose down. God bless.

I am back in the shop, just had some mango's, yummy ! Hi Robert, and yes I now see it up close and personal, WOW, I do realize and it is good for me to talk about it and get it out there, no more hiding behind this smile I feel good, hungry, once my plumber gets back I am going to eat lunch, so far so good, I took 3/4 this morning and later today I will take the remaining 1/4, I sweat alot, but that will not hurt me and I was working, so far today nothing out of the ordinary has happened, my neck hurts, but I slept wrong ! I will check in later !

Just checking in, I am taking one total pill a day, I am ok, sweaty now and then, I have noticed I am really sleepy at the end of the day and my patience is very thin, is this sound about right ? I also find I am kind of nodding off and on, never sleeping, but almost at that point, any advise for the new guy ?

I noticed the way you're taking the subs like .75mg in the morning and .25mg at night. You really should be taking an even split dose you're doing it wrong now. The reason for two doses is that it will help you as you do the taper. But taking most of it at one time defeats the purpose of doing two doses. It will also keep an even amount of suboxone in your system so the way you feel shouldn't fluctuate. God bless.

Now you tell me Ok, I had no idea, I really did not think it would matter, but like alto of stuff, I was wrong, I will do that tomorrow, what if I only take it once in the morning ? Is that any better or worse ? That is probably why my mood fluctuates , I have been very short fused for the last 2 days, well mainly yesterday ! As always, THANKS !!!!!!

That's one of the reasons I suggest reading around the forum to see all the different advice. I always recommend dosing twice each day in equal amounts. It's impossible to mention everything about using subs on every thread. I would go totally insane typing.

I would not take it all in one dose as it helps doing the taper doing an even split dose. I think it will help you feel better. God bless.

i never have. i took on induction, 2mg, then two hours later i took 2mg
the next day, i took 4mg in the am, 4mg in the pm
today is day four- i cry, i sweat, my hands shake, i can't stop smoking, its
on right after the next...this beats cold turkey? i don't know about that,
i quit four monthes ago cold turkey off vicodin,,,took 11 days to even get up
but at least i didn't feel like i was going to cry every two min. ive lost 8 ilbs in 6 days.
cannot sleep. take valerian, am on effexor...
everyone is cheering on how "great" they feel
am i the only one who feels like ******** on this suboxone?

Sounds like you were never stablized at induction. You haven't ever been stable since you started on the subs. Did a dr do this or did you buy on the street? I'm not judging just trying to figure out how you got where you are now. So what dose of suboxone are taking now? How do you take it? I can help you with the subs if you will go along with me.
