Default Suboxone & Me - Perfect Together

Hey all, I finally did it! I found a psychiatrist to put me on Suboxone treatment. I was gonna go to an assembly line doctor (NEXT?!) for treatment but was not comfortable with that approach. The cost was the same either way. I had to pay $350 for the first visit but my insurance will cover it. When I got to his office, I was in withdrawal about 18 hours and took 2 mg. suboxone sublingually and felt better in about 15 minutes. Then he gave me 2 more mgs. I felt really good, amazing really. I felt fuzzy and sleepy but my body was alive. I actually had energy instead of the usual "moving through water" feeling that Vics give you. It's now been 56 hours since my last Vic and while I should be flat out sick, I am just fine except for a bit of a headache. I'm still trying to find my correct dose.

Just to sum up, I've been eating Vicoprofen steadily for 5 years and was taking about 8 - 10 (more if available) over the last year. I've been addicted to pain killers most of my life (about 35 years).

If the Suboxone works for me, it'll work for you. I would go into withdrawal just stepping down 2 pills a day. And you know the best part, I don't have a craving for the Vics. In-friggin-credible.

Now $350 sounds like a lot of money, it's a mere pittance just to take that weight off my shoulders. It's very tiring when your every waking moment is consumed with painkiller usage.

Good luck to all!

PQ

Congrats PoppyQueen,

I continue to hear wonderful things about Sub. It definently seems like the way to beat a heavy pain pill addiction. Keep up the good work, I'm very proud of you.

Hi PQ
Remember me? The girl who got he refill of Percs after I started the Suboxone treatment? Well, just wanted to tell you that what you said really hit home. And although I did not stay on the Sub, I haven't touched anything in almost 2 weeks
I am really proud of you, and am so happy to hear that it works for you.
Good luck with everything, and keep us posted!!

Jen

Yes Jen, I remember you. Good for you on your decision--the right one! I don't have the problem on "which shall I take" because like the good addict I am, lol, I timed it so I wouldn't have any of my Vic left when started Suboxone. You know, it's really easier for me to get Suboxone than Hydros. As I said before, my doctor, my only source, retired so I would't know where to get them now--at least not enough to keep me happy. I'm hearing that the internet is dangerous because you can get busted when the drugs arrive at your house? And I've never bought off the street, wouldn't know where to start. So screw it, all the anxiety associated with getting my pain killers is really too much for me to handle anymore. It just takes too much time and effort. This is easier.

So my choice for Suboxone was kind of a no brainer--even though I had arranged with another doctor to wean off the Vics. Wean off, who am I kidding? What true junkie can really have their drug of choice sitting in front of them and be able to resist? Oh, I'll just take one every 4 hours, then one every 5 hours...I can't do that! I do admire all of you that can; it's just not my reality.

Well, may the drug-free guardian angel watch over us...we all need protection!

I'm happy to read that something is working, latetly i'va heard and read wonderfull things regarding de Suboxone, and just last night i met somebody that have been addicted to morphine for years, and he went cold turkey out, and then a doctor put him in Suboxone and has done wonders.

Hope all of you the best, and here i am little by little living the withdrawls of Methadone, but finally i'm out. I'm still in 2 or 3 Vico a day, but those are rather easy, specially such small amount.

Besto of all you the best.

Kristy

hi all...today was my first day starting suboxone. I am not really sure how to feel- or how I am feeling. I am not shaking...I can say that for sure, but I guess I feel NORMAL? If anyone knows...maybe they can tell me how one feels as the days progress with suboxone. Thank you kindly.

Hi Amylee! I think my first dosage was 2mg. which took away shakes and that gotta go, got the runs feeling. Then 20 minutes later, the doc gave me another 4mg. This was strong for me, but I felt great--withdrawals completely gone. Problem was when I left I had a hard time driving. But I went right to work and I felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders, I could have cried! Even though my head was sleepy I felt good live energy.

You may experience sleepiness, like you could sleep 12 hours. Also itchy nose and constipation--those things associated with taking a narcotic.

So you should pretty much feel normal.Ain't it great?

Good luck--I think ou'll be pleased.
