Default stopping lexapro

hi everyone:
i just got into reading messages in this forum by chance and i feel totally lucky
i have been on lexapro for one year and i am trying to get off of it for the past few weeks. i am 5 months pregnant and eventhough my obgyn recommends to stay on this medication, i really feel awful feeding my baby any kind of drugs. i originally started with 5 mg and went higher to 10 and went back down to 5 and have been on 2.5 for the last few weeks. i just stopped taking the 2.5 for the past couple of days and have really bad head-aches and awful fatigue in all my body. first, i though it is because i am preganant and i should feel this way and after talking to my doctor, he just told me there is no such thing as "lexapro withdrawal" and i should probably go back on it if i want to feel better.
i just held back since i feel awfully guilty feeding my baby chemicals, and somehow found this website full of people experiencing lexapro withdrawal.
i too think that everyone should gradually get off this medication but dont know how to do it!!!!!
is there anyone with similar background could help me with my dilemma. i dont want to rely on my obgyn since he is very much liberal in things like this and i am more conservative. i appreciate any kind of reply.
thanks a bunch.
