Default stiff jaw from medication

i started taking Lexapro on monday (its saturday now) and my jaw has felt locked/stiff since around day #3.

has anyone had this side effect at all? its nothing major, though when i go to speak it feels like i really have to pry my teeth apart sometimes. the feeling comes and goes.

how long does it last? any idea what it is in the meds that causes this feeling?

cheers

I don't know from personal experience but it appears jaw clenching and jaw stiffness are listed as a side effect from lexapro... I just googled "jaw" and "lexapro" together and there were several articles...sorry to hear about that and good luck!

Hey there,

I stumbled across your question and thought I should let you know my experiences. Firstly just making sure the Lexapro your taking is an anti-depressant, if it is then I used to be on it but quickly changed as I suffered many side effects to it. Extreme nausia, unbelieable lack of sex drive, migranes the list goes on. I didnt get a stiff jaw but that could be linked to the migranes I had. Anyway I was referred to 'Lovan' and have not had any side effects whatsoever, its brilliant. See if you can give that a go.

Hope that helps

: )
