Default starting paxil

I have very bad panic attacks and have been suffering for almost 5 years now. I have decided to get my life back and try paxil. I am very scared of what to expect when first starting it because I have been told it can make you worse at first. Is that true and how bad. What can I expect to feel? Thanks

poison fan,

I have a friend that used to take 20 milligrams of Paxil a day. In the beginning it worked very well for her but after having taking it for around 4 months she started gaining weight. She gained 60 pounds. She tried weaning herself off of it but the withdrawel was horrific. She told me if I wanted to find out how bad Paxil really is to go to www.paxilprogress.org so I did and a lot of people on there are going through hell trying to get off it.

I know that I would be afraid to try it. Maybe your doctor can prescribe something else that isn't so dangerous as Paxil is.
