Default In So Much Pain...

I recently had a pimple type thing on my RIGHT Toe(biggest one), and when i was trying to poke it beneath the nail, i accidently clipped it with a nail cutter, so a piece of skin was off, and it was open to infection.....i thought it was nothing, and the blood would just solidify, but it didn't and started to bleed and bleed, than on 4th day i saw my doctor, he told me that bacteria got inside and it got infected,so he gaved me this cream to put on....but my 2nd day putting on this cream and nothing has really happened...and it's causing so much pain...i can barely walk....and can't even sleep because of the pain....

does anyone know anything to take?(drugs) or cream to put on, to relieve the pain?

Thanks A LOT!

Most topical creams are effective within 3 to 4 days, you'll then continue to apply the cream as directed by your doctor.

The pain is probably caused by the swelling from the infection. An anti inflammatory, ibuprofen, is your best bet. It will help reduce the swelling. If OTC pain killers don't help contact your doctor. There are many options, including narcotic pain killers, steroid shots, and etc.

On top of taking a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory like has already been suggested, you can buy topical ointments that have an analgesic in them, there are several, like Neosporin or Bactrin that are OTC and have an analgesic in them to help with the pain.

Putting ice on your toe, 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off, will also help with the pain and swelling.

My information is not guaranteed correct. I do not get them right all the time, but I do enjoy the hunt~

well from the time i posted...i went to see doctor, he gave me cream, then it didnt really work, then i got antibiotics + cream, it was healing....(swelling going down) then one day...i was walking up my wooden stairs...i hit the FRONT of the toe...the nail went more in....it was bleeding alot for about 7min(huge puddle)...then it got back again(as big) then a week after(2weeks ago) that incident the doctor sent me to a podiastrist(sp?) feet specialist, then it took a week to get the apointment, so yesterday i went and he told me he needed to cut the thing off "graniola(sp?)" was the bacteria infections name, so he gave me a needle(anesthetics) and he just s****ed it off, so now im here a day after bandaged(just the right toe)

it wasn't as bad as i expected...but i was enduring uncomfortableness for about 2 1/2 months -_-;; sucks...but now its over, still finish my antibiotics(about 5 left) and waiting for the wound to heal on my toe...

was woundering, am i suppose to soak the toe in water(while taking a shower) or am i suppose to prevent it from wetness?

Because i THINK i heard it's better if you get it wet...but common sense tells me that i shouldnt get it wet until it heals

Thanks
