Default Sciatica

Just started having sciatica symptoms ~ never had anything like this before, am a hiker, work out daily, etc... So these symptoms are really really frustrating to me. Is there anyone out there who has this problem and can help me with things that help with the pain?

Thanks in advance,
Patricia

The summer of 2005, we were boating the Missouri river. I was in the cabin and my husband was driving too fast (we have a 30' Formula powerboat...to give you an idea of the "cabin") He hit a cruiser's wake and I flew up in the air and landed on my left cheek so hard that I couldnt move. It got worse over the next few hours. I didnt know what it was. The pain was debilitating. Off we went to the ER. Sciatica.

I cant run. I cant lift anything heavy. I cant horseback ride. I cant work out on the leg portion of our Bowflex. I cant stand for more than a half hour or so. Sciatica is a scourge that is a life long problem. It will never go away. Almost every strenous movement causes that shooting pain.

Painkillers and Skelaxin have been what helped me.

Did you injure your rear? I am wondering how else Sciatica can start. Trauma is definitely one source.

Be sure to visit your doc and hopefully he can call me a liar. Good luck!

Meds-
Cymbalta - 60mg
Topamax - 200mg
Lyrica - 150mg
Stadol/ butorphanol (the monster) 2-3 bottles a month
