Default Robert ?????

has anyone ever had an alergic reaction from suboxen? do you know what they put in with it? i have food sensitivities and chemical sensitivities

an example of my sensitivity is when i had a b-12 shot and got sick from it. the doctor said there was nothing in it but b-12. she researched it and found aluminum and something else i was sensitive to.

thanks , dan

Robert knows waaaaay more about suboxone than I do, but I can tell you that some people get sick from the nalaxone in the subs. Are you having symptoms or just generally worried?

some people have side effects from the buprenorphine itself but its rare. These side effects include severe migraine like headaches, extreme nausea and vomiting. Often it can be worked out but on rare occasions, the side effects are debilitating. Going down in dose often helps alot. Sub is extremely strong and powerful.

Suboxone contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone and more than likely it will be the Naloxone that would cause a problem ...it is added so that you can not shoot up . You will also need to be in a certain point of w/d .There is a cows chart they use for this so that you have a proper induction .

Please beware that a lot of sub doctors will put you on much higher dose than necessary and keep you on the drug way to long .

I for one was unable to take Suboxone and was put on Subutex which is Buprenorphine w/o the Naloxone . I can't see the need to have to take anymore drugs than you need. So unless you shoot up there is no need for Naloxone.
Hope this is some help,

I heard from Robert yesterday. He gave me congrats on finishing up the sub taper. Melinda & him are probably just taking a break. Everyone needs a break now and then.

Dan .... as the others said it could likely be the naloxone in the subs that you're reacting to. Naloxone is in suboxone but NOT subutex. Subutex is pure buprenorphine. But even some people react to that as well ... not very many but a few.

NO drug in existance works for 100% of the people who try it. Aspirin, penicillin, etc ..... there are many drugs that save lots of people's lives yet they will kill another person (though seldom).

The fact that you have lots of allergic reactions already would lead me to suggest that you speak with the dr about this. It's literally impossible to tell you here whether you are allergic to anything in subs. If I was seemingly reacting to it though I would find out why from the dr.

Hope that helps. Let us know how it works out for you. God bless.

Dan, forgive me if I missed something but I don't see where you mentioned if you are on sub, how much, subutex or suboxone and what your particular side effects are. As Robert said, without all the information there's no way to say what your particular case is. I've seen alot of people have reactions to nalaxon in suboxone, to being on too high a dose and rarely but occasionally, to the bupe itself.
