Default Question from a human rather than a book

My boyfriend has struggled with pain pill addictions for the past few years. He is mostly addicted to percocet and fomerly oc's. He swears to me that he has stopped however i do not beleive him. I am no isiot. I know when he has used (eyes are small and I can just hear it in his voice) However now he complains of terrible pain in his back and feet (like nerve pain) This has actually been goin on for over a year now. Last time I :caught him" was about a week ago. He says he quits then uses once a week or so.(I think) He is A LOT better than he used to be but still, IMO, has a problem. This is my question do any of these things sound like a red flag to help me help him: shaky hands, horible switching and jolting at night(like he is shaking from a bad dream) real big jerks, weight gain, sleeping issues, too much or too little, pain in his feet like a lighter being held to it. Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

most of those symptoms sound like withdrawal symptoms which happen when people quit using. I would wake up shaking frequently when I withdrew. Although, when i was using heavily I also had very bad reams and had funny sleeping patterns. The burning feet defiantely sounds like a withdrawal symptom. Does this help at all?

My wife has a similar reaction to methadone and its becoming worse. She shakes violently and talks gibberish, clapping her hands and pacing. This started as mild swelling in her feet and burning of the soles of her feet. As her reactions became worse she began to hallucinate and act as described. This process has taken a year to get to this stage and I am afraid she will have a stroke if she continues to take methadone.
