Question Question about taking Suboxone for mild painkiller widthdraws...

I was addicted to painkillers, (oxycontin, percocet, loratab) for almost 3 years. The oxycontins didnt come into play until the last 6 monthes. I seeked help from my local methadone clinic, and I quit doing pills and I got through my widthdraws from the methadone, which I have found methadone DT's was the worst DT's I ever experienced. It took about 30-40 days to feel better.... And then I was sober for about 6-8 monthes.

Around January, I relapsed and started doing oxy's and other pills in moderation. Not as much as before, but still enough to make me sick when I didnt have any. I have recently quit doing them, again... and it has been 1 week since I've touched anything. The DT's are nowhere as bad as before, but I want to ask, if I was to take a Suboxone, does it have anything in it that act's like an optiate that would restart my widthdraw cycle again?

Please, someone, I need to know this. Will a Suboxone restart my widthdraw cycle from coming off of opiates???

If you would, please help me by posting (or emailing me at badfishsmoke@aim.com ) your opinion's, or if you know from experience...

Thank you very much.

Suboxone will not precipitate withdraw symptoms as long as u stay on a daily maintenence dose.

Default don't do it

If you have made it for a week now, the very worst of your W/Ds are behind you. There is no way I would consider starting on Suboxone at this time. You will just be extending the time you have in cleaning up again. I would not even consider that route. I just stopped Suboxone successfully. I did not want to be on another drug any longer. If I had known what it was, I would have never taken it in the first place when in rehab. I was in my fifth day of detox when they gave it to me. I could have been past the worst of the detoxing in another few days. Hang in there! You have proven you can do this on your own. Be strong.
