Default ? for pill-layer or others on sub

Hello, I have been lurking around on this board for a while now, and I noticed on several of your (pill-layer) previous posts you mentioned being on a sub program in TN.
I also live in the TN area, and I am thinking about trying a sub program.I could only find one doctor in this area that was practicing this treatment, even though lots of others were listed on the sub site, they all had either stopped using it, or moved, and several places said that they had never offered it, and had no idea why they were listed on the sub site ?!
Anyway, I was wondering if you felt comfortable in telling me the name of your doctor that is giving you sub. If you don't feel confortable, or if it is not allowed to give a doctor's name on the board then please just disregard, or I can give you my e-mail, and you can respond that way.
The doctor that I talked to on the phone was very very nice, and helpful, and made me feel much better about myself. He asked me if I was shooting, or snorting the drugs. To which I answered no because I'm really not, at least not yet anyway. He asked me what was the most I had ever taken in oned day, and I answered about 50 mgs. in one day. He replied that this was really not too bad in the overall realm of things. He asked me if I took them for legitimate pain, and I said yes, I have a bulging disk in my neck. He went on to tell me that I was dependant physically on the drug, but in his opinion I was not addicted. By the way, percocet 10mg is the drug that I take.
I originally called him because I was constantly running out of the percocet (supposed to be only taking two a day) and I had read up on the sub, and thought it might be good for me because I might not be tempted to take more than I should, as there is no high, and it sounds as though the sub might be okay to take at work, and this is important to me, as my pain is chronic, it hurts all day and night.
He also said that he billed first, and would let me turn it into my insurance company, so that I could selectivly give them only the information that they had to have.
That was about a month ago and I am considering calling him, as nothing has changed, and I still run out of my medication constantly, and my pain clinic is reluctant to up my dosage, and really I'm afraid that I would still take more that prescribed eventually. Im not sure if I want to go on sub to get off opiates altogether, or as a safer form of pain management.
I have rambled on now, but pill-layer, if you could tell me whether this is the same doctor you are going to, and the experince you've had with him, I would really appreciate it.

Also I would appreciate it if anyone on the board could answer these questions, is it okay to take sub at work? I assume it is as they claim that there is no high. Do most pharmacies carry this stuff, or is it still basically unheard of? About how often do you have to check in if you are on an outpatient program, for quitting rather than maintenace.

50mgs really isn't that bad. Infact, if its chronic pain, thats about what you should be taking. They only last 4-6 hours, so 5 pills should barely cover the day anyways.

I'm not stating that you're not addicted, or your wrong to want to quit, but at your level there are many options. If you're worried about taking too many, explain your situation with your doctor. Tell him 2 a day doesn't cut the pain. Also ask him for an extended release pill. One that you can take in the morning, and that will last all day. This should get you away from having to take anything at work.
