I don't understand how you think you're alone. You may not have the most perfect mom & dad in the world, but you have parents who think you're the center of their universe. Who would give their lives to save yours. Who you've never even gone to with this problem you're having. I know your parents very well, they would be the most understanding people that any human could ask for. So don't pretend that you have no help out there. It's just a phone call away or an open door at home. Try it, it may very well surprise you & be life changing

Baby Steps:

I [u]WISH</u> I were near two months. Today is day 40 for me. This is only the 2nd time I've ever made it to 40 days so for that I'm really grateful.

To everyone who is just embarking on the road to recovery........... The 1st 3 weeks are difficult and while there is noticable change every day, it is nothing like the changes I have felt these past two weeks. No more withdrawals at all. No more restless legs, no night sweats, no chills, no ugly mood swings. Perhaps best of all, I am sleeping really well without the aid of anything. (O.K., I do have a warm wife next to me and that helps a bunch )

So many of us have posted repeatedly, especially in the early days of our journey that we "just want our lives back" or "We just want to be normal" again. I really feel like I have attained that....... at least physically.

I do realize however, perhaps for the first time ever, that I will never, ever be totally beyond the grasp of this addiction and that I must remain ever vigelant.

nymommy: I am so happy to see that you are doing well, (or at least better) off of the sub. It's been a bugger hasn't it? Like you mentioned in one of your posts yesterday, this forum has been the single most effective tool in my recovery. I owe you all so much and I am so appreciative for each and every poster here. You guys/gals are the greatest.

KAI... OMG 40 days!!! Is this the furthest you ever got before? For real? So you really are there huh!!!!!!!! YIPPIE!!! I have one question and I guess I ask as a caution for me and everyone else... Why after 40 days before did you start again? I really want to make sure I look out for that red flag.

Yeah, yeah rub it in KAI... you have someone to snuggle next to keeping you warm! [8D] Tamm... where's my puppy!!! Because that's gonna be the closest snuggling partner I have for sure! The pickens are slim these days for a good single man w/o drama or insecurities and a good job! LOL

Keep on Truckin Kai!!!! And thank you too for contributing so much to our board!!! And yeah what about our NYMommy!!! Isn't she the trooper!!! You Go Girl!!! I'm still in awe at your leap I promise! You are one strong willed woman for sure!

And hey Tamm... where are you today missy? and HL... I know your around somewhere.... And LISA GIRL... I'm starting to get worried about you.... Just piop in to let me know you and Mom are ok... please... Come on kids!

Hey Lyds and Sparky and Tom and my Coming Home.... How are my friends today?

ComingHome... I'm wondering how you are sweetie... please let me know... have you gotten through days 4 and 5? I've been thinking about you!! I hope your doing ok....

Love you all!!

Love ya tons!!

Baby Steps

Baby Steps:

You asked: "Why after 40 days before did you start again?"

Answer: Because I'm stupid and I listened to the lie of "Go ahead. You can do just a few. This time you're in control."

Thank you Kai for that! Because I will admit there have been many painful days that I would hear... "You're in pain! Why are you suffering like this? You won't get addicted if you just take it for pain!" Well.... it sure sounds good but I kept remembering days 1,2,3 anad 4 and just can't go through that again! It's so sad that I've allowed that to happen and became an addict but that's the facts and it will never change. I just know that if I took 1 I'd fall so hard!

You are a wise man KAI!!!

Baby Steps:

I type my whole response or post first without any changes to the font or color. Once I've done that, I review and [u]drag the curser</u> over those areas I want to change. Once they are high-lighted, I select the changes I want, (with the above buttons). You can make more than one change without re-highlighting so long as you haven't moved the curser.

Hey Tamm Tamm... Girly where have you been all day HUH? I e-mailed Lisa Girl the same pics I sent you guys but I haven't heard anything from her either. I hope she's ok... I Miss her little bubbly personality on here!!!

So Tamm, hows your tapering going? What are you down too? And what all that Bev and Beverly and Abey talk all about? I remember there was a Bev and Abey messing with our Mort but I didn't know she was changing screen names as well... Is this true and what's the story? Syd, Lisa Girl Kai and NY might know too...

Tam:

How are the puppies? I'll bet they are into everyting about now. And those needle teeth are painful!

My Kaidog is curled-up next to my desk at the office as I type this. He is always standing (or in this case lying) guard. Nobody comes or goes without his notice.

We are entering another trial at the end of March. I really need to get more serious about the training. He's a great dog. In our last trial he scored 97 points in the tracking, 90 in the obedience and 97 in the protection. The judge gave us way too many points in the obedience but I'll take them.

Kai... you show your shep? Those are excellent scores!!!! That's awesome! I had a pure bred white shep I waited such a long time for (because I didn't want an albino) and started to train her for shows and neighbor boys put rat poison in her food because we wouldn't allow them into our backyard (Privacy fenced) and go swimming in our inground pool!!

I was so devistated!! I've never found another like her and don't think I ever will. She was precious. I miss my Erika!!

Smile Hey Kids...

Hey Guys... I think I finally got it!!! I was unable to use my "Baby Steps" and I really miss it already! Then I tried registering with other names and it was pretty much a nightmare. I finally decided I would try 1 more time as I had 1 e-mail left to use and I guess it worked.

I was about ready to give up. But was going through c/t w/d from this forum!! I guess it's better than what I went through over a month ago.

If anyone else is only able to read this and is having the same problems I had (which I was reading on here hoping someone would post their problem and solution to help me) you may have to give up your old name and register all over using another e-mail account you may have. Make sure the name isn't close to the same as the last like I kept trying Baby Steps 1 and 2 and 3 and it wasn't until I changed it quite a bit did it work. Good Luck to you!! I know I wasn't the only one having problems and who knows maybe one of my many e-mails to the contact us will finally get returned and I might be able to get my old name back but it's been since last night and several e-mails to the contact us and no reply.

All I Know is I'm Glad to Be Back Guys!!! Missed Ya!!

Love Ya and HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Default You'll Always Be Baby Steps To Us!

Baby Steps:

You'll always be baby Steps to us! I had a bit of difficulty registering too at 1st. It wouldn't recognize my password even though I'm 100% positive that I was typing it correctly. I finally had them email me a new password and I logged-in using the new one and immediately changed it back to the original password.

Give everyone a few days and the board will be back to normal.

Glad you were able to get in eventually.

Oh Kai Kai!!! You made me laugh outloud when you said 10%!! LOL LOL You are such a trip! I asked for my password to be sent to me as well... several times last night so I called it a night figuring they were busy updating and checked my e-mail this morning and no reply. So I ask for it again and again and again! And I actually got 1 response about an hour ago and they sent me my USER NAME!!! NO PASSWORD!!!! CRAZY! So this girl said.... uh...Forget it!!! Let me just start all over!

I'm so happy you chimed in to respond because I was wondering if it worked!!! LOL And of course I can count on my KAI... ya know why? Cause you are always 3 steps ahead of me!!!! I Love It!!!

Happy V Day Kai!!! Put a pic up in your profile of your pooch Kai Kai! and you too if ya want...

You Rock My Friend!!!

Baby Steps: Technically I don't "show" Kai. We actually compete in a German dog sport called Schutzhund. Schutzhund, (which literally means Protection Dog in German) is a compilation of Tracking, Obedience and Protection competitions. There are a possible 100 points in each phase. I have scored 100 points in Tracking several times and 100 points in Protection only once. I have never, ever scored a 100 points in obedience and doubt that I ever will. That phase is just way, way too complicated and it is the only phase that does not come naturally to the dog. Although it was initally the protection phase which drew me into the sport, the tracking phase is my favorite. I have never scored less than 92 points in the tracking phase with any of my dogs.

Baby Steps:

Kai-Kai is 6 years old. He is a dark, dark black sable and is a stud-buzzard. I bike him about 6 miles a day and he wears a weighted vest (10 lbs) during the run. He is really buff. (Kinda like me ). And no, I didn't train him.

He is the 1st competition dog I've had that I didn't train myself. I imported him from Germany about 2-1/2 years ago, (that was real cheap!). While he is incredible in the protection phase, (also called the bite-work phase for obvious reasons), his tracking was really screwed-up when I got him and I have been able to fix that. He can track with any dog in the country.

His obedience was really jacked up and it has been a slow road to recover that but it is working.................. slowly. So much of our scores require that the dog not only be correct and perform each activity, they must do it with lots of flash and enthuasim and speed. I have tried to make it fun for him again and his scores are improving every time we compete but I don't think I will ever completely fix what they screwed up in Germany.

All in all though, he is a tremendous dog and I know that he would protect me with his life if it ever came to that.
