3 days is great keep up the good work hun , just rember 3 days is better than having no days.

I go to NA and tongiht will be my 3rd meeting i absoulty love NA it really helps though i havent talked much i just listen and you realize your not alone. there are ppl there that are in the same boat, as us and no one is better than anybody just because they have been going longer than us. i think you should get a number the NA hotline number look in the phone book either under AA or NA then or like me i called the local hospital and asked if they had meetings and then they gave me a nmumber to call, or you can call the national drug abuse hotline and tell them you need the number to NA in your local area, here is the number for the national drug abuse hotline its open 24/7 its 1-800-259-7115 and just ask for NA in your area you dont have to tell them your name or anything you dont want them to know.

you will really like NA you'll be glad you made the call.

Tammy....Alabama eh? Roll Tide! I used to date a guy from Taladaga (sp?) Why do you think you need to up your sub dose? I was thinking you were on a relatively high dose already..16 mg or so? If it is only cuz you are having some mild cravings but no physical w/d symptoms, I would try to tough it out if you can.. It will get better.. I was thinking the same thing the first few days but if you can make it on a lower dose... I think you are better off in the long run...Oh by the way I'm from Denver

P.S So your hubby is a naysayer negative type? Sounds like my bf... it's hard when you really need continual support when you are going thru something like this.

hi lisagirl,thanks for replying, actually im an Auburn fan and fla.gator,alabama fans take it so personally when they lose its awful,,yeah im on day 3 im not in physical w/d,im on 16 mgs.I will stay on that and tough it out,I guess im just used to being high,I need energy dont feel like doing anything,I need to clean house and just dont want to ...didnt you say after a while you had plenty of energy? I think some meetings or counseling would help for the mental cravings,distraction,,I did take alot of hydros for almost 9 yrs,got up to abt.20 10s aday,thats why i was thinking maybe I needed more sub.but you are right,dont need to over do it,it will take time to get used to just being straight,I am taking a few somas for sleep and during the day when I get grouchy. denver huh, I bet you have plenty of snow already!! or not,thanks for listening take care of yourself,tammy

hey , morticia ,thanks for the info on the n/a meetings I need to hop to it,how long have you been off the stuff,D you have any energy? I remember the methadone put me in a really good mood and I had all kinds of energy,constantly doing things,but it seemed that like loracets after abt. 4hrs. needed another dose,the sub, seems alot different,you are just feeling completely normal,no buzz or rush or anything,I will get used to this I know it will take time,and a possitive attitude!!!but its really hard sometimes when you have to put up w/your husband being a downer,neg.etc...god bless,take care ,tammy[^]

your very welcome, anytime, i know what you mean i was up to taking 20 10's of perks a day ive only been clean for 3 weeks, and it does take time to ajust ive been taking that dose for nearly 16 years.
the mental w/d sucks but the meth helps with that and going to meetings. it takes a while for the brain to get back to "normal" whatever that is lol but really it does your brain is used to getting this chemical and the recpters are all screwed up and need time to heal.so you feel yourself again but the sub should help with the mental piece last night before the meeting a friend of mine was being nice ladyy and made me want to pick up a pill and use but i went to a meeting instead , i said im not gonna let her ruin my sobriety, if you dont use you cant get high.
i know have a hubby thats not supportive can be very hard but i find alot of support at the meetiings and this forum, my hubby is 100% supportive he's happy im off the pills.
I'll help anyway i can call that number i gave you when you get a chance you wont regret it. hope to talk to you soon. take care

hi, morticia did you know that while you are on methadone ,it blocks the effects of the hydro,no sense taking the pill just wasting your time and money,you can take 50 hydros and you will not get a buzz,meth.blocks it very well,there is no point in taking them,the meth is just a stronger version of hydros,and you do get a buzz from them,also there is a big problem w/constipation,best thing to do is get like a generic brand stool softener and take 1 every day,walmart has the equate brand its cheap and works well.god bless you ,talk w/ya later tamm..

thanks for the info, i know meth covers up the "high" from any opiate but she made me so bloody angry, i just needed to vent i guess , sorry if i came on stronge any way i know what you mean i have BAD constipation i havent gone in 2 weeks ive been taking mineral oil and so far nothing so my hubby suggested eating lettuce i havent been eating right since i ve been on meth i lost 27lbs which i need to loose weight anyway considering im over weight and im only 5'2 i weigh 185 which is way to high for me because im small boned i used to weigh 90 lbs but with all the other meds im taking its hard.
anyway did you get my email? i figured i could talk about more stuff privalty somethings i just dont feel comfortable talking about on the board.


so enough about me i just been a rambling on ...so how are you on this fridged cold morning? hows the sub working today? does it help with pain as well? how are the cravings? i know that mental w'd lasts a lot longer than physical it can take up to a month before your brain feels better, thats what i heard anyway but in my case the meth really helps with that and the chronic back pain that im in, i can actally sleep in my bed now before i was sleeping in a recliner chair.

Patmamma.. Glad you survived but sorry to hear you are in pain. HAHAHA.. When I first saw your post I was thinking "MAN is she F***ed up!" Thought it was the pills but nope, just a keyboard mishap.. Very creative how you used the 5s for the letter s..


Tammy.. After about a week on the sub I had TOTAL energy.. It was out of control... but I never felt drained like you did in the first days.. I don't think anyway. I will have to reread my posts. That time is kind of foggy. I felt very high for the first few days. Yes "high." It was weird. Now I don't feel like I have extreme energy but then again I have been very ill feeling this week.. flu I guess. Hate this feeling. Don't know if it is at all related to the meds or just plain ol' flu.

We have had some snow here but in Colorado it will blizzard one day and be sunny and 70 degrees the next. They say if you don't like the weather here, just wait 5 minutes. It really is crazy.

Today was the first Friday since I've been on the sub when I haven't really craved a perc. Really glad about that. I was beginning to think I would never get over them. Of course some days are easier than others.


AMY.. where are you? See you haven't posted since you filled your vik prescription. Are you ok?
In the even that you did use, know that it's ok.. that most of us stumble at one time or another. Or maybe you've just been busy...that happens too!

That's really funny.... I just had mine fixed... I has to wipe out my entire hard drive and re install EVERYTHING.... It was awful but now it is just like brand new... It's so clean and so fast! I love it!

hey,pamamma,If you plan on quitting the hydros soon and dont want to try the meth or sub.there is something called The Thomas Recipe,Ithelps alot if you are planning to quit cold turkey.I think you can find it on www.ezboard.com,you need certain comfort meds,immodium,b-6,lots of liquids,hot baths for aching muscles,some L-tyrosine each morn.cinemet for RLS they say the first 5 days are the hardest,force youself to eat,some,walking also helps,there is a certain way you follow this recipe,so I would look it up ,and they will tell you exactly what to do,, have a great nite everyone,tamm oh! the most impt. part some zanax and somas if you can get them,but be careful you dont want to get depended on them , too!![:X][|)]

thats great news im so glad to hear that your going to another meeting, i'm going to one at 10 this moring its fridged outside, i live in New York about 60 miles north of the NYC its 27 degrees out burrrrrrrrrr!

so its your 6 th day on sub? thats fantastic! your doing great! keep up the good work, and try to make a meeting , they say 90 meetings in 90 days , i try and go everynight if i can except mon and fri cuz it hard for ,me to get a ride cuz its about 20 mins away from were i live and i have a hard time driving at night,but once i get a sponser then she can take me to meetings that are far, so i hope you'll find a sponser soon let me know when you do.

didja geta newcomer keychain yet? you probably will tonight. and also if you can try and find a home group meaning the NA meetimg you will be going to the most.

I missed read about the recipe thing it was like 2 am while i was reading it i thought it was for you , but i know who its for so, a big DUH on me LMAO!

from what i hear sub gives you energy i know one person said it gave her a bunch of energy, maybe your body has to get used to it just take one day at a time ,hun

hey patmamma,you said Ambien that is a very evil drug ,thats why you are having nightmares,probably.my best friends sister died from the ****,my sub doc even agreed w/me she said she would never rx it to anyone,she says benadryl works just as good..th ambein has lsd or something in it,people wake up in the middle of the night get out and drive and dont even know what they are doing,this girl got so addicted that she stold scripts from docs and wrote her own she took them day and night along w/darvocet,she crashed her new suv into someones livingroom,would wake up at nite go to kitchen and fix all kinds of crazy food to eat ,made a big mess etc,,,the next morn.would go in the kitchen and swear someone broke in and made the mess,I could go on and on ,shes buried now we miss her,she was beautiful ,young,just completed her education,got married to a great guy ,then the ambien happened she lost her job ,got in trouble for stealing the rx pads duis and so on.please dont even take 1 more.im afraid for you,tke care tammy

the diffeernce between aa/na is aa is for alcholics only but in na alcoloics are welcome because alchol is a drug too. but from what i heard is aa is more welcomimg than na but i find in my opinion that na is more welcoming aa considers everybody an alchollic even if you drank 20 years ago just one drink , like i told aa that i drank frozen vodka in polar spring bottles in high school and aa said that i was an alcohlic i havent drank in years i dont like the taste of liquior so unless you are a drinker or have one drink in a blue moon aa is really not for you na is more our speed ya knowyoull be able to relate to ppl in na then you would in aa thats just my opinion. but which ever one you choose you have mt 100% support.

i was invited to one of the girls houses for dinner from na so i gotta run but i'll be back later on tonight,i hope this helps good luck at the meeting tonight let me know how it went.

Tammy.. That is really a sad story about your friend and ambien. My sub doc prescribed it for me and I take it almost every night. Have never had a problem but I only take 1 10 mg pill. I have heard some weird stories about people eating on the ambien in their sleep but I think those things must happen to a small percentage of people or people who take more than prescribed.??
You said she took them day and night? I think that any med can be dangerous if misused. I will look into it more though. For now it really helps me sleep thru the night with no hangover effect.

I have never been, but I have heard from friends that the people at N.A. tend to be a little more accepting and less judgmental.. but that is what I have heard. I am sure it is different with each group. I think I would prefer the NA as it would seem I could relate better to those with narcotic addictions. Morticia I think it is great you are meeting so many people and having such a great experience at your meetings.

PM.. Did you say you had nightmares and were trying to take out your stitches or you were having nightmares ABOUT trying to take out your stitches? Hope you are feeling ok.. I am still feeling like **** from this flu or whatever it is.

my understanding of the ambien is that it can cause hallunciations, but that is rare, and occurs when you take it and DONT go straight to bed..it is for sleep...period...i take it almost every nite..and i get a well rested sleep..like lisa said. no hangover...now the benedryl is suppose to work just as well...but for me i took it once, and i was speeding my ass off.so again depends on the individual....~~~~~~~~amy breeze..how are you....angela it was good hearing from you~~~~~~~~k-dog are you in an early retirement...it was good to hear from everyone~~~lisa, i hope every time you see a chihuaha (sp)..you think of your crazy NY friend.

how are you doing this morning? how did your meetimg go last night? did you find a sponser? dinner was wonderful it was nice of them to invite me over we did rune reading and fairey card readings my rune reading hit the head on the nail, it said bascially that im giving up my addction and replacing it with friends and also i asked if na would be right for me and the rune said absoulty i have to work hard in na but the outcome will be rewarding, and thats bascily all i can remember any way the 5 of us are going to get together again the week after Thanksgiving and make homemad incensents and candles for Xmas. so im sure if you keep going to meetings you;ll find yourself going to ppls houses too , keep me posted.

LisaGirl, yes the meeatings are excellent i have one tonight i feel like i can be open and dont have to hide anything about myself. its really a great experience,

That one niht that I ha the horrible ambien incient wa5 more b/c my 5tiche5 were botherin me in the niht, I wa5 tryin to attack them while I wa5 5noozin. Ambien work5 well for me. Thi5 time thin5 went wron b/c I wa5 in ain. My mouth wa5 5o 5wollen ye5teray, it i5 much better toay. I actually can make it 6 hour5 without takin anythin now, ye5teray I coul only make it 5 hour5. I 5till cant chew or bite into anythin. I think ju5t a coule more mornin5 like thi5, an I will be back to normal...whatever that i5.
