Default A Pain Induced Addiction..It's The Doctors Fault

This is my very first time writing on one of these boards but, i have been reading them for years..I am a 24 year old female diagnosed with fibromyalgia..I have been sick since the age of 6 years old..I have horrible chronic pain just about in ever joint and bone in my body..Sometimes i can barely walk..At age 6 years old i was complaining of low back pain..Of course the doctors dont know exactly whats wrong with me so they give me the garbage diagnosis of Fibromyalgia now that i am 24 years old..Thats almost 20 years later..Ive been on and off "Pain Killers" since the age of 12 years old..I have come to a point where just taking regular non-narcotic pain pills dont help me at all..What am i supposed to do?? Live life with pain like this?? I am fully aware of the addiction i & doctors have got myself into but, i sit here and weigh my thoughts..Do i live in WRENCHING PAIN EVERYDAY or SHOULD I JUST BE/STAY ADDICTED TO PAIN KILLERS??? This is the Doctor's fault for not having any answers for me..No cures for the problems they diagnose me with..They have just thrown anti-inflammatorys & Pain Killers at me since i am 12 years old..Now i have a problem, No one really knows about it but, i usually take anywhere from 4-6 Vicoden a day..That dont seem like so much compared to the others on these boards but i am very dependent on the 4-6 i take..I stopped all other meds cause they just dont help me..If i dont have the Vicoden i am in severe pain..I go to extreme lengths to make sure i have it..What do i do ??

Socom, Have you tried altervative pain management therapies? There are many alternatives to drugs. Have you tried biofeedback. Biofeedback clinics are hard to find. They are usually found at large medical centers in or around big cities. There is a BF lab at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck N.J. They may be able to help refer you to a lab in your area. BF is fun! You go to a clinic, they hook you up with assorted electrodes that can monitor everything from blood pressure and pulse, to electroconductivity of your skin and muscles. While being monitored you try assorted methods of using your brain to control your pain. As a nurse I've listened to alot of positive results from BF patients.
Also, look into Yoga, accupuncture, Chiropractics, etc...
Good Luck->>>>TORXIS

Thanks for replying to my messages..I am just really starting to feel like i definitly need to go about handing my pain differently..I am scared of liver problems..I am taking tons of tylenol everyday..this cannot be good for me..I do get my liver checked regularly and everything seems fine except for slightly high levels of GGT..Im sure its from taking to many Vicoden..I at least take 4-5 of those suckers a day..I am building a tolerance to them..I take 7.5 mgs now and i feel a ton better when i take the 10 mgs..I wish i can just find a different way to deal with all this pain..Ive tried a bunch of different things and it just dont seem to help me..Thanks for listening..Socom
