Default Opiate W/Draws--Off 5mg suboxone cold turkey

I've been addicted to opiates for the past 3 years, but the past month or so I've been on suboxone (though not through dr. supervision). I've tapered myself down to about 5mg a day (about 3 in the morning, and 2 in the evening), and this is my first day with nothing (going to attempt cold turkey). I'm going to a dr. for advice, but I don't think he's much of a specialist in this area, not even sure if he'll know how to deal with it.

That being said, is this 5mg to nothing a good idea? I just don't want to be on subox for months and months, I only have 3 months b4 school starts back and I need to be 100% detoxed. Also, I've heard some of the typical suggestions of how to make it through w/d's a little better, but I'd appreciate any tips on what I can do to help make myself feel better/help get through it a little more easily.

Much thanks to anyone who can help

Absolutely DO NOT jump off subs at 5mg. You'll end up being one ill human being. You should be tapering down to a minimum of .5mg if not less. And you do it SLOWLY. I can walk you through this if you want my help but you're doing this totally wrong and going to end up sick if you don't do it right. God bless.

Question Ouch

Yeah, I figured it would be painful. I'm actually on day three and its starting to get ********ty, but between my parents and family Dr. cold turkey was really my only option if I wanted to keep living here. I'm wondering if I'll be in any physical medical danger--and for how long. My Dr. said after 72 hours you'd be out of medical danger, but I don't think he realized that suboxone has a half-life of 72 hours. Any help? Because this cold turkey is my only option unless I wanna ******** up my family life (not an option in my mind).

If you have no choice in the matter then what I'd suggest is that you check out the following link on The Thomas Recipe for opiate w/d. Lots of people here have used this successfully and it will help to lessen the effects you'll be experiencing doing this the way you're doing it. Keep posting and let us know how you're doing. Good luck and God bless.

Default 5 Days

I'm five days into sobriety and honstly it felt like yesterday was the worst part of the whole ordeal. I'm not saying I don't feel ********py, but it feels like things got just a little bit better today compared to yesterday. I'm still sore, random chills, but yesterday definitely felt way worse than today. Like I feel ********py, no lie, trying to get stuff together for mother's day yesterday was terrible. Forcing myself to do stuff is definitely a good idea. Here's hoping.

Smile Thanks

I feel like some of the worst is over, but I keep telling myself not to get too comfortable with it. The worse I expect, the easier feeling bad seems to be. I'm going to try and get more physical today, get my endorphins back up and my end off this couch.
