Default Off of Hydro's with barely any withdrawals!

I have been through this addiction so many times it's not even countable. The 1st time I came off of them was in 2005 and I was throwing up bile, diahrea, landed myself in the er. After that I stayed straight for about a year.
Since then I've seemed to fall off the wagon about every six months. I'm finally sick of this drug! I prepped my body for a month before coming off of them, I am now on day 7 and my only withdrawal symptom is tiredness. I do use alot of vitamin/herb supplements and always stay ahead of the symptoms before they appear. My reason for coming off these pills is financial, I was spending $100 a day. I'm not sure if I can post my detox regimen here but If I can I'll be glad to do so.

Everyday straight is a blessed day!

When you post the regimen I would be interested to know much Hydrocodone were you taking a day? Were there any Benzos, sleeping pills or any other prescription drugs involved?

Well I only stayed straight for about a month. Now I'm back to 36 hours clean, but I worked half of today and haven't had to nap. Once I get past the big emotional meltdown I do okay. Usually at the very onset of withdrawal. I need to work on staying off them, finding enough reasons to do so. This time I'm writing down all of my feeling, depression, etc. Hoping I can fall back on that when I start to fall again! My regimen for "no withdrawal" is I started taking lots of vitamins/herbs before stopping. (about a month) But this relapse I fell beind in my vitamins/herbs and it still seems to work. When I relapse I take anywhere from 10-15 qty 10mg hydrocodeine a day. I am female, 40 years old.

MY CONTINUED RELAPSE REGIMEN (hopefully this is the last) I promise your DR wouldn't approve. Alot of this I take for other ailments so I'm not really sure if some of it is unnecessary but I never sway from it. And needless to say I am not a DR, and have never had this approved by my DR. What may be safe for one person may not be for another.

(please know every body reacts differently to medications) go slow and alter as you see fit. It also helps to write everything you take down. Time, qty, etc.
Before I ever feel the first withdrawal I start taking Imodium AD pills. Sometimes the blister packs are hard to get open so I open all of them and put in a bottle, so if I feel like poo I don't have to worry about it. I take 4 at a time. (note: box tells u not to take more than 4 in a 24 hour period) But I try to stay ahead of the stomach cramps before they hit, usually 4 imodium a-d every 4-6 hours.

I take a wide spectrum vitamin, plus vitamin B6, & B12.

TONS of h2o starting the minute I take my last opiate. I act as if I'm trying to flush out the bad toxins.

Benzos (Valium, Klonipon, etc) I only take when I absolutely have to, I usually feel worse with alot of sleep, but thats probably just me.

Glucosamine Chondroitin: (joint therapy) I take this for my knees but I swear it works for restless leg syndrome. Which I've never gotten during withdrawal if I was on this.

L-tyrosine for energy when needed. I know alot of people are crazy about this but I use it sparingly because it causes me stomach cramps in large doses. I am somewhat overweight and use phentermine for energy that I can get at my local diet DR. (I've taken up to 3 x30mgs a day) usually starting on day 2.

other stuff I take (not sure if it works for withdrawal)
prescribed antideppressant (cybalta) 90 mg
Zantac 75 (acid reducer) 2x daily
Calcium Supplement 600 mg
L-Lysine (amino acid) not to be confused with the above mentioned L-Tyrosine
Black Cohosh 1000 mg a day
Echinacea Herb
and like everyone says..... LOTS OF BATHES!!

Hope you stick it out for good this time. I did it several times too before finally making my mind up to not go back again. I know I still have a BIG party left in me, I just don't think I have anymore detoxes left. Think we almost have to get to that point before most of us long time users finally make the commitment to stop and stay stopped. Hope this is the last one for you. Life is SO much easier not having to keep messing with planning out another detox again. Good luck.
