Default no to lexapro

do not take lexapro. the side affects are not worth it. I have taken it and now off. I am having side affects. I took it for about 9 months and now off. the doctor never told me about when I quit what the side affects may be. He only gave it to me and said he would have to help me get through my mother's cancer. I will glad when this is over.

Martha and GPROC,

How are you doing with the withdrawals?? Join the Lexapro Withdrawal forum here so that we all can learn from your experiences and offer support.

Martha,

What dose are you on and what dose have you tapered to? What withdrawal have you experienced. Hpw much weight did you gain.

Gproc,

You say Lexapro Withdrawal was the worst time of your life. Can you offer any details as to how you tapered and what you experiences. I have been researching Lexapro Withdrawals from first hand experience from those having gone thru this nightmare. Can you please share you experience to help others understand Lexapro's side effects and how horrible of a drug it is...........

Thanks

I do not agree. Taking Lexapro has been the best thing I have ever done to deal with my depression and it has probably saved my life. It has saved my relationship with my husband (I was ready to leave), my crying bursts have stopped, I became a much happier and nicer person to be around, I was on the verge of a suicide and since I started Lexapro 7 months ago I had no suicidal thoughts at all! I've had a couple of minor side effects which are so negligible comparing to the benefits. So, everyone is different and I believe it is wrong to TELL people what to do. You have a right to state your opinion and experience, but not to order people what to do.

QUESTION:
I am not sure if anyone knows what I should do, but I started taking Lexapro 5 days ago, and I have been really sick: dizzy, tired, shaking, nauseated, my chest is all tingle and hot. Last night I woke up at 1:00A.M. and from my shoulders to my figer tips my arms were on fire and numb, I was freaking out. Has this happened to anyone, and if so what did you do???
